'Chicago Fire' Casting: Jesse Spencer to Return During Taylor Kinney's Absence

An original star of Chicago Fire is returning to the show later this season!

Jesse Spencer will be back on the NBC series at the end of season 11 to fill in for fellow original star Taylor Kinney, who is taking a leave of absence from the long-running show.

The 44-year-old actor, who played Matt Casey for the first 10 seasons, left during the beginning of season 10 to focus more on his family. The character went to Oregon and committed to a three-year stint at a new job.

Jesse will return to Chicago Fire in episode 18 of the current 11th season, according to Variety. No other details have been revealed about Casey’s return.
