Fans are questioning what happened to Elizabeth Banks‘ voice after she presented at the Oscars.
The 49-year-old actress and filmmaker presented the award for Best Visual Effects at the 2023 Academy Awards on Sunday (March 12) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
Elizabeth was joined on stage by someone dressed as the title character in her movie Cocaine Bear, which she directed. While walking on stage, she tripped while trying to escape from the bear.
When Elizabeth began speaking, it was clear that she was sick.

Elizabeth had a raspy voice while presenting on stage and at one point apologized to the crowd and said, “Sorry, my voice.” She has not yet commented on what was happening, but we’ll update if she does!
