“I feel it’s really time for me to focus on my business and my entrepreneurship, and also producing more TV — but behind the scenes,” Tyra shared in an interview with TMZ. “I think it’s time to graduate from the dance floor to the stock market floor…from the ballroom to the boardroom!”

Tyra first joined DWTS as a host and an executive producer for the show’s 29th seasons back in 2020, replacing Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews.

When asked why she’s leaving the show, Tyra said, “Don’t you think it’s time? Yeah, I think it’s time.”

“I’m an entrepreneur at heart…I think my heart, my soul, is into my business, it’s also into producing new TV,” Tyra added. “But, I really, really want to focus on my business, and you can’t do that hosting a show.”

Alfonso Ribeiro joined Tyra as co-host of DWTS in 2022 for season 31. No word yet if the show will be replacing Tyra or just keeping Alfonso as the main host.

Tyra‘s shocking exiting comes after it was previously announced that one judge and two pro dancers were also leaving the show.

Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars is expected to air on Disney+ this fall.
