Drake Drops Out of Lollapalooza Brazil Hours Before Headlining Set, Days After Shortening Sets & Preventing Live Streams in Argentina & Chile

Drake is pulling out at the last minute.

The 36-year-old “Hotline Bling” entertainer decided to cancel his headlining set at 2023 Lollapalooza Brazil on Sunday (March 26) with hours to go, citing production issues as the reason.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Drake is without members of his sound and production team, essential to the realization of the Lollapalooza show in Sao Paulo. Drake was excited to perform for his fans in Brazil. Unfortunately, this is beyond his control. Sorry,” a statement posted in Portuguese reads on the official Lollapalooza account.

The announcement drew plenty of backlash in the comments, with fans angered that the superstar canceled his set. Organizers are now providing refunds due to the cancellation announcement.

His performance days before in Lollapalooza Argentina was also reportedly 40 minutes long, as opposed to the typical 90 minutes that a headliner would spend on stage. He allegedly prevented his performance from being live-streamed just minutes before he arrived late to his show as well, via HNHH.

Drake decided, minutes before going on stage, to not permit the live transmission of his show, despite the formal agreement reached earlier. We regret the artist’s decision,” organizers said in a statement, via MSN.

Drake also performed at Lollapalooza Chile, and similar had a shortened set than usual.

Skrillex is set to replace Drake in his performance slot in Brazil on Sunday (March 26), festival organizers confirmed.

At the same time, Drake is heading out on tour this summer and the full list of dates and venues has been announced earlier this month.
