Carlos Alcaraz to Face USA's Taylor Fritz in Quarterfinals at Miami Open Tennis Tournament

Carlos Alcaraz gets in a last-minute practice session with his team during the Miami Open tournament on Tuesday (March 28) at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla.
The extra practice must have worked as later in the day, the 19-year-old Spaniard defeated USA’s Tommy Paul, who defeated Carlos in the Canadian Open last August. The match went two sets, 6-4, 6-4.
On Wednesday evening in the quarterfinals, Carlos will face off against USA’s Taylor Fritz, who stars in Netflix’s tennis docu-series Break Point. The show will return with Part 2 in June 2023.
“I watch a lot of [Taylor] matches, so I know him a little bit,” Carlos shared during his post-match press conference. “[I haven't been able to] practice [or play] with him, so it’s going to be really tough, new opponent for me, a new style of game for me [to compete with]. But I’m gonna be focused on me [and my game, play relaxed], smile on court. That’s the key [to] everything for me.”
