Avatar The Way of Water

James Cameron‘s epic sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water is available on digital to view at home.

Taking place more than ten years after the events of the first film, Jake Sully and Neytiri have built a happy life together in the forest, raising their four children, Neteyam, Lo’ak, Tuk, and their adopted teenage daughter, Kiri. The family frequently spends time with Spider, a human child orphaned during the war who could not return to Earth due to his size.

However, when the Sky People, led by Colonel Miles Quaritch, return, he realizes that they must leave their forest home in order to survive. Jake, Neytiri, and their children embark on a long journey across the oceans of Pandora and seek sanctuary with the Metkayina clan, led by Ronal and Tonowari, who reluctantly grant them shelter in their reef ocean village.

The film is presented in all the usual formats, 4K UHD, HD, and SD, along with an awesome 7.1 audio presentation, and runs approximately 192 minutes. The film looks especially crisp and vibrant in 4K UHD and is the recommended way to view the film.

The release has a plethora of extra features and content including behind the scenes building of the World of Pandora, a featurette on the returning actors, deeper dives into certain characters, and more. Many of the features gives a good look at James Cameron’s directing process. There’s another featurette that immerses the Avatar cast to assume the indigenous Na’vi culture by living in the Hawaiian rainforest and training on different disciplines for their roles.

You can pick up the film on Amazon, Apple, and Vudu today.
