It appears that the the two most senior women in the royal family might break tradition when they get dressed for King Charles‘ coronation in a few weeks.
According to a new report, both Princess Catherine (aka Kate Middleton) and the King’s wife Queen Camilla are making unexpected decisions when it comes to selecting their tiaras for the event.

People moted that Princess Catherine‘s decision might be the most surprising. She is reportedly considering going without a tiara for the event.
While it isn’t formally required, it is typically expected for royal women to wear a tiara to an event like the coronation.
Unlike the Princess of Wales, Queen Camilla is expected to wear a tiara still. However, she will likely repurpose Queen Mary’s Crown, which made its coronation debut in 1911 when King George V ascended the throne.
Again, it’s not written in stone that a royal must wear a new piece to an event like this. However, it is more common to see something debuted for such an important day.
The decision was made “in the interests of sustainability and efficiency,” according to the publication.
