Katy Perry Reveals She's Working on a New Album & Tour!

Katy Perry is ready to hit the road after Las Vegas, and work on some new music too!

The 38-year-old pop superstar opened up in an interview with Out about her Play residency coming to an end, and plans for what’s next.

“It was something I had started thinking about pre-pandemic and [I] was able to take the time and dream it up and do it the right way throughout that time where everybody was on pause,” she said of Play.

“I had such great luck with timing concerning it. I have so many memories of coming to Las Vegas before I had a residency. I feel very connected to it. It’s where we used to vacation. I used to come to Vegas and visit my grandma. My parents used to drop us off in the basement of the Excalibur! I remember all of it.”

Ahead of the residency’s wrap-up at the end of the year, she said she’s planning a tour in the future, and working on her sixth studio album.

“I still love making music. I still love spreading light and love. I know there’s a lot of people who couldn’t make it to Vegas. The last time I was on tour was in 2018. I’m… due. How about that? I’m due to go out and see the kids that couldn’t make it to Vegas,” she confirmed.

She also added one thing still on her “bucket list”: RuPaul’s Drag Race.

“It’s absolutely on my bucket list. We’re just trying to figure out the best date to do it. I adore Ru and that is an iconic show. I’m inspired by that show daily,” she said.
