Royal Family Shares Photo of Late Queen Elizabeth with Her Great-Grandchildren - And a Few Children Are Noticeably Missing

Kensington Palace is celebrating the late Queen Elizabeth‘s 97th birthday with a never-before-seen photo.

On Friday (April 21), Prince William and Princess Catherine (aka Kate Middleton) marked the first birthday since the Queen‘s passing with a sweet photo of Queen Elizabeth surrounded by almost all of her great-grandchildren taken by Kate last summer.

“Today would have been Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s 97th birthday,” the Prince and Princess of Wales wrote on Instagram. “This photograph — showing her with some of her grandchildren and great grandchildren — was taken at Balmoral last summer.”

In the photo, Queen Elizabeth is sitting on a green sofa next to her eldest great-grandchild Savannah Phillips, 12, who the daughter of the Queen‘s grandson Peter Phillips, to her left.

On her right, is Zara Tindall‘s daughter Mia, 9, who is holding baby brother Lucas, 2.

Will and Kate‘s three kids Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, are seen standing behind the Queen alongside Zara‘s daughter Lena Tindall, 4, and Peter‘s daughter Isla Phillips, 11, with Prince Edward‘s children Lady Louise, 19, and James, Earl of Wessex, 15,

Noticeably missing from the photo are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s two children Prince Archie, 3, and Princess Lilibet, 1, who were living in California at the time the photo was taken.

Also missing from the photo were Princess Eugenie‘s son August, 2, and Princess Beatrice‘s daughter Sienna, 1.

Queen Elizabeth passed away on September 8, 2022 at the age of 96.
