Melissa McCarthy Reveals the 'Bridesmaids' Scene She was 'Hesitant' to Shoot & Talks Potential for Sequel

Melissa McCarthy opened up about all things Bridesmaids related in a new interview.

The 52-year-old The Little Mermaid actress starred in the 2011 comedy alongside the likes of Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph.

She recently weighed in on the possibility of shooting a second movie and spoke about a scene in the original that she was “hesitant” to work on.

Speaking to People, Melissa described the iconic food poisoning scene as one she was “hesitant” about.

“It just ended up being so funny. Also, just Kristen shoving 72 Jordan almonds in her mouth. There was a take where she must have had 40 in there,” she recalled. “And we were like, ‘Kristen‘s going to choke.’ It was also terribly unprofessional acting because anyone who wasn’t on-camera was usually bent over and just shaking. None of us were behaving.”

“From a distance, it must have looked like we all had food poisoning because there was just times where we’d be like… You can’t be around that group of humans and not just be beside yourself,” she added.

What were her thoughts on a sequel?

“I would do a Bridesmaids sequel this afternoon, right now,” she said. “That group of women was the most magical thing ever. Almost all of us were really good friends already. I think it was such a magical time.”

She added that she’d be down to get the cast back together even if they were all in their 90s.

Melissa also pictured her character’s future alongside Air Marshall Jon (aka her real-life husband Ben Falcone).

“I think they have matching denim jackets with each other’s image painted on it. I think they’re so happy. And they’re running a dog rescue, I’ll say that,” she imagined, adding that they were also “running her trucking company” and working as private detectives. They’re truly doing it all!
