According to The Ankler, Prince Harry gave SNL creator Lorne Michaels a “soft yes” about hosting, but it turned into a “last-minute snub.”

“I think he was feeling oversaturated and questioning whether he was becoming too much of a ‘celebrity’ as opposed to a figurehead,” a source weighed in, confirming that the talks were in motion.

They added that Chris Martin was rumored to be joining the show alongside the Prince as the night’s musical guest. His band Coldplay performed at the show alongside host Pedro Pascal on February 4.

Aubrey Plaza and Michael B. Jordan hosted the show’s two January dates.

Another report about Prince Harry shined light on his relationship with Prince William and King Charles ahead of the King’s coronation this weekend.
