Whoopi Goldberg Questions Prince Harry & Meghan Markle's NYC Car Chase Story, & Other Co-Hosts of 'The View' Agree With Her

Whoopi Goldberg is questioning Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s recounting of their car chase in New York City earlier this week.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were involved in what was described as a “near catastrophic car chase” on Tuesday night (May 16).

However, Whoopi voiced doubts about their story during an episode of The View.

During Thursday’s (May 18) episode of the talk show, the co-hosts dedicated time to discussing the situation. Whoopi opened the segment by questioning the recounting of the story.

“I think their spokesperson referenced something that you’d generally reference in Los Angeles. That’s where you have chases, that’s where you can move at high speeds. I think they were dealing with aggressive paparazzi, but I don’t think it was where, you know, you watch it on TV like this, watching the cars go, because it just doesn’t work in New York,” Whoopi opined.

She wasn’t alone in voicing doubts about the story. Joy Behar seemingly agreed, saying that she thinks that someone in an ambulance could die due to the traffic, making it hard to imagine a high-speed car chase.

Whoopi continued, taking issue with the use of the word “chase” to describe the situation.

“When you use that kind of verbiage know that your credibility is going to get cut in half because the first thing New Yorkers will say is nobody moves that fast in New York City,” she added.

Again, Sara Haines seemingly agreed that it was slightly “misleading.” She added that there should be policies that limit what paparazzi can do.

“It’s their right,” Whoopi said of the paparazzi, “They were as aggressive as they would be with Taylor [Swift].”
