Keanu Reeves has been a part of so many successful movies over the years, but by the sounds of it he just missed out on joining a new blockbuster.

The 58-year-old John Wick actor was reportedly discussing signing on to star in Fast X, the latest iteration of the Fast & Furious franchise.

Interestingly, this is the second time he was in talks to join the world; Keanu was first considered for a part in 2019′s Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.

Who was he supposed to play in Fast X and what happened? The actor who ultimately got the part opened up in a new interview.

According to Alan Ritchson, Keanu was up to play his part Aimes in the new movie.

“It was just a little stroke of luck and good timing,” he recalled about landing the part during an interview with EW. “I was working on a movie with Hilary Swank up in Winnipeg in the freezing cold, and I got a call that things had shifted in the plans with Keanu Reeves, which is I think who was originally intended to play my part. Tough act to follow.”

Interestingly, Alan was worried he’d have to jump ship on the part as well after a storm disrupted the project he was filming with Hilary, which is likely their new movie Ordinary Angels.

What role was Keanu supposed to play in Hobbs & Shaw? The outlet noted he was considered for an offscreen cameo voicing the Eteon Director. Ryan Reynolds ultimately took the part.

Fast X is shaping up to be a serious blockbuster based on box office numbers from its opening weekend.

Of course, Keanu isn’t hurting even though he missed out on Fast X. His mega-successful John Wick franchise just hit a major milestone.
