'Deal Or No Deal' Exec Responds to Meghan Markle's Comments About Being 'Reduced to a Bimbo'

Meghan Markle‘s comments about her experience on Deal or No Deal are getting attention.

The 41-year-old Duchess of Sussex spoke out last her on her Archetypes podcast about when she was hired onto the show, saying she was “reduced to a bimbo.”

“I ended up quitting the show. I was so much more than what was being objectified on the stage,” she said at the time.

And now, a Deal or No Deal exec is hitting back.

Lucas Green, chief content officer for Banijay, the company that is relaunching the popular game show, was asked by Variety if he agreed with the assessment.

“No,” he began, adding “but we are constantly evolving the format so that it isn’t the same show it was 15+ years ago.”

“A lot of work goes into modernizing our formats to ensure they represent our values as a company and wider society. The U.K. version for example, will continue to use members of the public from all walks of life to open the boxes [instead of models],” he added.
