Billy Joel Announces Final Dates for His Residency at Madison Square Garden - Does This Mean That He's Retiring?

Billy Joel is wrapping up his long-running residency at Madison Square Garden.

The 74-year-old “Piano Man” star has been performing at the iconic venue for 10 years, but he announced plans to bring the show to a close during a press conference on Thursday (June 1).

Of course, the news also sparked questions about if Billy is planning to retire, which a representative cleared up for fans.

Billy‘s final shows at the venue will be in July 2024. However, the first of 10 final performances will begin on October 20. Tickets for the shows will be available for presale on June 5 with a general on-sale planned for June 9 via Ticketmaster.

Does this mean that Billy plans on retiring from music? A representative told the New York Times that was not the case. It is currently unclear what he has planned for the future, though.

The hitmaker is currently touring with fellow music legend Stevie Nicks, and the setlist for their show features so many hits.
