“My mother, Cynthia Weil, was the greatest mother, grandmother and wife our family could ever ask for. She was my best friend, confidant, and my partner in crime and an idol and trailblazer for women in music,” her daughter Dr. Jenn Mann said in a statement.

Cynthia is survived by her husband Barry Mann, who was her longtime songwriter.

If you’ve seen the Broadway musical Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, then you know all about Cynthia, who was a close friend of Carole‘s. Her and Barry are both characters in the musical.
