Tim McGraw Talks Family Dynamics, Explains Why He ‘Couldn’t’ Look at Faith Hill & Their Daughters While Accepting Icon Award

Tim McGraw provided a window into his family life with Faith Hill and their three daughters.
The country power couple got married in 1996 and are parents to Audrey, Maggie and Gracie.
Faith, Audrey and Maggie were all on hand to support Tim when he was awarded the Icon Award at the 2023 Academy of Country Music Honors last month.
In an interview, Tim opened up about the family dynamic. He also explained why he “couldn’t” look at his family in the audience while accepting his award.

Tim told ET that his family would be keeping him humble after he was dubbed an icon.
“They’ll all give me a lot of crap for it for sure,” he joked with the outlet. “With my wife and three daughters, I’m the low man on the totem pole. And I’m the least talented singer out of everybody in our family.”
He continued, explaining how it felt to have them in the audience when he accepted the win.
“I couldn’t look in their direction because, you know, I’m terrible at giving speeches. And when I do give speeches, I tend to tear up pretty quickly,” Tim said. “Hopefully I got through it pretty well.”
Tim had so many great things to say about his daughters during a recent performance, too. He then talked about his wife and hyped her up while promoting his new album Standing Room Only.
