Angelica Ross Says Emma Roberts Called Her to Apologize for Alleged Transphobic Comments

Angelica Ross has revealed that she received a phone call from Emma Roberts just hours after she accused the actress of making transphobic comments on the set of American Horror Story.

During an Instagram Live stream on Tuesday night (September 19), Angelica claimed that Emma made a transphobic remark while standing next to her, though she only referred to her as “Miss E.R.”

“She’s just being whatever. And John is like, ‘OK, ladies, that’s enough. Let’s get back to work.’ And she then looks at me and she goes, ‘Don’t you mean lady?’ And she turns around like this and covers her mouth [with her shirt],” Angelica said during the stream.

“Thank you @RobertsEmma for calling and apologizing, recognizing your behavior was not that of an ally. I will leave the line open to follow up on your desire to do better and support social justice causes with your platform,” Angelica tweeted.

Angelica Ross also said that Ryan Murphy accepted her pitch of doing a season of American Horror Story starring four Black women, but then ghosted her and never responded to follow-ups about the project.
