Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert have been enjoying wedded bliss for just over a month now, but the next question on some minds is, “When are they having kids?”

The 38-year-old Dancing With the Stars judge and his dancer wife tied the knot in Carmel Valley, Calif., at the end of August, after dating for seven years.

In a new interview, Derek was asked if they had future plans to have kids.

“Absolutely, yeah yeah,” Derek told Extra. He then looked at wife Hayley and said, “What do you think babe? We ready to do this thing?”

“We’ll see,” she responded.

Earlier this year, Derek and Hayley shared that while they are not in a rush to have kids, seeing friends Val Chmerkovksiy and Jenna Johnson welcome their first little one sped up their own timeline.

“There wasn’t a rush on [having kids] until we just met Val and Jenna Chmerkovskiy‘s baby, and that was when it was kind of like, ‘So should we get on this now?’” Derek told ET. “It was pretty special and actually it was cool because Val, he was like, ‘Bro, for somebody who was created to create, this will be your ultimate creation.’”

“Actually, it did kind of make us think like yeah why are we, why wait?” he added.

A month ago, Derek and Hayley went on their honeymoon in Italy!

Currently, Derek is back on Dancing With the Stars, and the newlyweds will be going on his A Symphony of Dance tour starting THIS Monday (October 2) in Salt Lake City.
