Black-ish's Tracee Ellis Ross Wasn't Throwing Shade at Tyga During BET Awards 2015 - Read Her Explanation

Tracee Ellis Ross co-hosted the 2015 BET Awards on Sunday (June 28) and during the broadcast, viewers thought she threw extreme shade at Tyga and Chris Brown.

The 42-year-old Black-ish actress took to Twitter to explain the moment, which looked like she was laughing while introducing Tyga and Chris.

“NO SHADE 😊 @Tyga #BETAwards,” Tracee tweeted, along with a note explaining what happened.

“Absolutely not throwing shade @Tyga (I’m not the shade throwing type) as u might remember from my TMurda ‘further exploration’ video I have trouble saying his name right & I was nervous. I was hosting a live show. I was fighting in my head cause I was so scared I would say it the wrong way. That would have been awful. Saw him as he came off stage and there was nothing but love. You rock Tyga,” Tracee added, explaining about her rap alter ego TMurda.

Rihanna Throws Cash at Exec in Staged BET Awards Moment

Rihanna shows she has no hard feelings towards BET exec Stephen Hill while giving him a kiss at the 2015 BET Awards on Sunday (June 28) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The 27-year-old singer was one of the final presenters of the night and before walking out on stage, she was seen on camera throwing a wad of cash at Stephen backstage in a heated moment.

“But why? That’s why the f–k I don’t come to BET,” Rihanna said according to lip reading experts.

Stephen later joked on Instagram that they “kissed and made up” and BET has reportedly confirmed that the whole bit was staged. Watch below!

Michael B. Jordan Gives Powerful Black Lives Matter Speech at BET Awards 2015

Michael B. Jordan looks as dapper as ever while arriving at the 2015 BET Awards on Sunday (June 28) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The 28-year-old Fantastic Four actor was joined at the event by the young stars of Black-ish: Yara Shahidi, Marcus Scribner, and Miles Brown.

Michael hit the stage that evening and gave a powerful speech about Black Lives Matter.

The 27-year-old entertainer performed a medley of his hits, which included “One Man Can Change the World” and “Blessings,” among others.

'Empire' Cast Performs at BET Awards 2015 - Watch Now!

Jussie Smollett (Jamal), Yazz The Greatest (Hakeem), and Serayah (Tiana) take the stage to perform a medley of Empire songs at the 2015 BET Awards on Sunday (June 28) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The group collectively sang “No Apologies,” “You’re So Beautiful,” and “Drip Drop” for the screaming crowd! Terrence Howard was also in attendance at the show and watched on.

Before the cast took the stage, hosts of the show Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross parodied Terrence and Taraji P. Henson‘s characters Lucious and Cookie.

Nicki Minaj Didn't Know Which Award She Won at BET Awards 2015 (Video)

Nicki Minaj shows off her two trophies in the press room backstage at the 2015 BET Awards on Sunday (June 28) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

During the show, the 32-year-old rapper won the awards for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist and the Viewer’s Choice Award for her song “Only.” While picking up the latter award, Nicki admitted to the crowd that she didn’t know which award she actually was accepting!

“I want to thank you guys for the support on The Pinkprint,” Nicki said before pausing and saying, “What was this award for?! I’m sorry.”

After being told it was the Viewer’s Choice Award, she said, “Viewer’s choice?! Oh my god, y’all. Thank you… I was in the back!”
