Nearly all of the front-runners for the Oscars’ Best Supporting Actress prize walked the carpet at the 2016 Governors Awards on Saturday night (November 12) at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Hollywood.
Lion‘s Nicole Kidman, Moonlight‘s Naomie Harris, Manchester By the Sea‘s Michelle Williams, 20th Century Women‘s Greta Gerwig, and A Monster Calls‘ Felicity Jones all are in the top six on GoldDerby‘s predictions right now for the category!
Also at the event were Michelle‘s Manchester By the Sea co-stars Casey Affleck and Lucas Hedges and director Kenneth Lonergan, as well as Naomie‘s Moonlight co-stars Mahershala Ali and Janelle Monae.
Casey is currently the front-runner in the Best Actor category while Mahershala and Lucas are the front-runners for Best Supporting Actor!
Janelle is looking likely at having a shot in the Best Supporting Actress category for her work in Hidden Figures. The actress currently considered the front-runner overall in the category is Fences‘ Viola Davis.
