It was just announced that Kit Harington will be playing the role of Dane Whitman in the upcoming Marvel movie Eternals.

The announcement was made at Disney’s D23 Expo, just hours after it was first speculated that the 32-year-old Game of Thrones actor will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Eternals will be released on November 6, 2020 and it will star Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan, Brian Tyree Henry, and Kit‘s GOT co-star Richard Madden.

So, who is Dane Whitman? He is the third character in the Marvel comic books to become the superhero Black Knight. His uncle Nathan Garrett was a villainous Black Knight who was killed by Iron Man in a battle. Before he died, he summoned Dane to restore honor to the Black Knight legacy. A brand new poster for the upcoming movie Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was unveiled during the D23 Expo and you can see it here.

The audience at the panel on Saturday (August 24) also were among the first people to see new footage from Episode IX. We have heard that the crowd was wowed by the new footage, which included the first look at Rey’s new double-sided lightsaber.

The two stars both were at the Disney+ to unveil the projects they are working on for the streaming service!

Gina is executive producing a new series called Diary of a Female President and she’ll also be a recurring guest star on the show. She was joined by star Tess Romero to announce that the series will premiere on Disney+ in January. Told using the narration from her diary, this half-hour single camera comedy follows 12-year-old Cuban-American girl Elena’s journey through the trials of middle school, which set her on the path to ultimately become president of the United States.

Grace was joined at the event by her Stargirl co-star Graham Verchere to announce that their coming-of-age film will launch on Disney+ in early 2020.

FYI: Gina and Tess are matching in their Ellie Mae Studios blazer and pants. Grace is wearing a Jonathan Cohen dress.

Ewan McGregor hits the stage for a big announcement at Disney’s D23 Expo on Friday (August 23) at Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.

The 48-year-old actor was joined by Star Wars producer Kathleen Kennedy to officially announce that an Obi-Wan Kenobi series will be coming to Disney Plus and it will start filming in 2020.

There are several Star Wars series on the way for the new streaming service.

The first trailer for The Mandalorian was premiered at the event and the series’ stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, and Taika Waititi were all there to introduce it. The series will launch on November 12 when the streaming service launches.

Pedro Pascal and Alan Tudyk were also on hand to talk about their upcoming series in which they’ll reprise their roles from Rogue One.

Christina Aguilera was just honored as a Disney Legend!

The 38-year-old entertainer accepted the award during Disney’s D23 Expo on Friday (August 23) at Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.

During the event, Christina gave a performance of “Reflections” from Mulan and thanked Disney for the honor.

“This is way cooler than a Grammy, I just have to say! This is tremendous. You don’t understand. I may be the ultimate Disney fan. I don’t know. I know it’s high competition in this room, but…” Christina said while on stage.

She added, “Thank you so much for this amazing honor. I love this. This is so special, I’m like shaking…I’ve been holding back tears all day.”

Kristen Bell is bringing grown-up theater kids back to high school!

The 39-year-old actress brought her upcoming show Encore! to Disney’s D23 Expo on Friday (August 23) at Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.

The upcoming Disney+ series follows a group of former high school classmates that are brought together to recreate the musicals they performed while they were in school.

Encore! originally aired as a special on ABC back in December 2017 when a former cast mates recreated their 1997 production of Into The Woods.

Kristen is set to executive produce the show.

Encore! premieres on November 12th.

Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany brought WandaVision to Disney’s D23 Expo!

The co-stars stepped out for the event on Friday (August 23) at Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.

They were also joined by cast mates Kat Dennings, Randall Park and Kathryn Hahn.

“We get to do a deep dive into some comic books we haven’t yet referenced and it’s going to be a wild ride,” Elizabeth told ET Canada.

Paul added, “It’s going to start off really funny and end up really messed up and epic!”
