Here's Why Singers Lip Sync at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

The 2019 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade just kicked off and there will be tons of great performances all morning long… though you might notice something interesting during them!

Almost all of the performers are going to be lip-syncing during their performances and this is completely normal for the annual event.

Nearly all performers in the parade have been lip syncing instead of singing live for years for multiple reasons, the biggest one being that floats are moving throughout the parade and having singers perform live would be a logistical nightmare.

Another reason is the cold weather that performers frequently have to face during the parade. It currently is 50 degrees with strong winds in New York City, while some years the weather is much colder than that.

Last year, a Grammy-winning singer broke tradition and actually sang LIVE for a change!

Make sure to check out the full list of performers who will appear this year!

The 2019 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is about to kick off and the biggest question right now is whether the balloons are going to be grounded or not.

New York City and the tri-state area is experiencing intense winds on Thanksgiving morning (November 28) and the NYPD will not let the balloons fly if it becomes too dangerous.

If the balloons DO fly throughout the parade, we have the full list of balloons you can expect to see, as well as the ballonicles and floats. The parade will air on NBC from 9am-12pm.

Cardi B Doesn't Think Offset's Family Would 'Trust' Her With This Thanksgiving Meal

Cardi B doesn’t think she has her husband Offset‘s family’s trust – at least when it comes to Thanksgiving meal prep.

The 27-year-old “Bodak Yellow” rapper opened up about her plans for the holiday in the latest issue of People.

“I’m really excited. I’m going to Atlanta. I spend it with [my husband] Offset‘s family,” she told the publication.

When asked if she’ll be helping with the cooking, she said: “No. I could help mash up the potatoes, know what I’m sayin’? Y’all want me to peel some vegetables, I’ll help you with that!’”

“I mean if y’all want me to cook a dish, I’ll do it. But I don’t guarantee it,” she went on to say.

“I think I could do a really good mac and cheese…I don’t play with my mac and cheese either, so I feel like if I’m gonna go in and do it, I’m gonna do it good. But I don’t think they’re gonna trust me enough,” she joked.

She also opened up about her daughter, Kulture.

“Now that my daughter’s a little bit older she likes to interact with kids. I’m excited to see her with her siblings [Offset is father to three other children from previous relationships]. It’s gonna be fun. A lot of open space down there in Atlanta so I can’t wait.”
