Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier, two figure skaters on the U.S. team, are being sued for copyright infringement and NBC is also named in the lawsuit.
The skaters performed to the song “House of the Rising Sun” during their short program at the 2022 Beijing Olympics.

Kamila Valieva is cleared for the 2022 Beijing Olympics.
On Monday (February 14), the Court of Arbitration for Sport confirmed that the 15-year-old Russian skating star would be permitted to compete in the short program of the women’s single skating competition, per CNN.
The decision comes after it was reported she had tested positive for a banned drug, putting her participation in the event in jeopardy.

Madison Chock and Evan Bates made headlines over the past week with their exciting and dramatic performance during the Team Figure Skating Event at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, and they’re about to take the ice again for the Rhythm Ice Dance competition today (February 12).
The two skaters, who are an item off the rink as well, have opened up in recent interviews about how their ice dance journey is a love story.
The couple actually went on their first date when they were just teenagers, but after just being fellow ice dancers, and then later partners, they gave a romantic relationship another go, which turned into a serious love story.
“Evan took me out to dinner for my 16th birthday and we went to Bahama Breeze,” Madi remembered of their actual first date. “It was really fun and he got me a hoodie, a zip-up hoodie from PINK, and it had turquoise letters. It was a very long time ago, but that was our first official date.”
She credits that first date and their friendship for being a “base was what sort of led to the romance.”
Madison and Evan opened up about what the key to their relationship is and Evan revealed that “humor is at the core of our partnership.”

Shaun White raises his helmet high after his final Olympic run on the halfpipe.
The 35-year-old athlete had an amazing first two runs, which put him in 4th place at the end of the second run at the 2022 Beijing Games.
Unfortunately, Shaun did fall on his third run, which means he’s out of contention for a medal.
Last weekend, Shaun announced that he’d be retiring from competition after these Olympic games, and this was his final competitive run ever.
While he didn’t medal at his final Olympics, Shaun has received a ton of support online from fans.
“Rock on @shaunwhite. What a ride it’s been. Wish it could have ended differently but you are the man. #Respect,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

Nathan Chen has won Olympic gold!
The 22-year-old American figure skater won his first gold medal while competing in the Men’s Singles program at the 2022 Beijing Olympics on Thursday (February 10) in Beijing, China.
Earlier in the week, Nathan broke the record for the highest-score ever recorded in the Men’s Short Program portion of the competition.

Congratulations are in order for Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim!
The 21-year-old American athlete won the gold medal in the halfpipe event at the 2022 Beijing Olympics on Thursday (February 10) in Beijing, China.
On her first run, Chloe earned a score of 94 points, which helped her secure a win in the event. Spain’s Queralt Castellet earned the silver with 90.25 points and Japan’s Sena Tomita earned the bronze with 88.25 points.

The ceremony to present Kamila and her teammates with their gold medals for the figure skating team event was postponed for “unexplained legal reasons” and now Russian media is reporting about the positive test, according to ESPN.
