A Series of Unfortunate Events has been renewed for a second season at Netflix!
The decision was announced via a letter from Lemony Snicket himself (which is the pen name of American novelist Daniel Handler, who wrote the series).
Netflix users were directed to a website to read the letter – titled “A Very Unfortunate Announcement.”

The day has arrived and Netflix has released all of the episodes from A Series of Unfortunate Events season one.
Neil Patrick Harris stars in the series as Count Olaf and there are some more great actors featured in the cast.
Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans — Violet, Klaus, and Sunny – whose evil guardian Count Olaf will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. The siblings must outsmart Olaf at every turn, foiling his many devious plans and disguises, in order to discover clues to their parents’ mysterious death.

Patrick Warburton has been cast as Lemony Snicket on the upcoming Netflix series A Series of Unfortunate Events!
In the series, Snicket is “the harried and troubled writer-photographer who is falsely accused of felonies and is continuously hunted by police and his enemies – including the fire-starting side of secret organization Volunteer Fire Department (VFD),” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
A Series of Unfortunate Events follows the “tale of orphaned children Violet (Malina Weissman), Klaus (Louis Hynes) and Sunny Baudelaire, who find themselves in the villainous clutches of an evil uncle named Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris) who has designs on their family fortune.”
Patrick‘s new NBC comedy series Crowded will premiere on Tuesday (March 15) and he is rumored to reprise his role as comic book character The Tick in Amazon’s upcoming reboot.
Netflix‘s upcoming show A Series of Unfortunate Events has announced casting for the two Baudelaire children!
Malina Weissman, who played Young Kara on CBS’ Supergirl, will play the role of Violet and newcomer Louis Hynes will play her younger brother Klaus, EW reports.
Neil Patrick Harris is currently in negotiations to play the villainous Count Olaf. You may remember the book series was originally adapted into a movie back in 2004 starring Emily Browning, Liam Aiken, and Jim Carrey.
No release date for the series has been set.
