'Today' Show Staffer Diagnosed with Coronavirus, Al Roker & Craig Melvin Take Day Off Out of Caution

The Coronavirus pandemic is quickly sweeping through New York City and the Today show is the latest to be effected. One of the staffers in the third hour of the show has been diagnosed after having “mild symptoms.”

Savannah Guthrie announced the news this morning, and said that Craig Melvin, 40, and Al Roker, 65, will both be taking the day off.

“Both are fine right now, they feel good, but caution is the order of the day,” Savannah said about her co-hosts.

NBC News president Noah Oppenheim also said, “We are fully supporting our colleague, who is experiencing mild symptoms and receiving medical care, and I know you join me in sending our very best for a quick recovery.”

The presidential hopeful and the Curb Your Enthusiasm actor, who often plays Bernie on Saturday Night Live, were both in attendance at TODAY’s Studio 1A on Friday (January 10).

“As I said before, it’s great for the country, terrible for me. I have to fly in. To do him. Every week. It wouldn’t be pleasant, I must tell you,” Larry said when asked by Al Roker about how he’d feel if Bernie becomes President.

“I’m giving you a good job for four years, and you’re complaining,” Bernie joked back.

Olivia Wilde and Karlie Kloss both rock black ensembles while stepping out for the 2019 Berggruen Prize Gala celebrating 2019 Laureate Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Monday evening (December 16) in New York City.

The 35-year-old Booksmart director and the 27-year-old Project Runway host were joined at the event by Snapchat CEO and co-founder Evan Spiegel, Katie Couric, Al Roker and his wife Deborah Roberts, Younger‘s Nico Tortorella with partner Bethany Meyers, Arianna Huffington and designer Diane von Furstenberg.

The evening celebrated the conferment of the Berggruen Prize for Philosophy and Culture to 2019 laureate Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Justice Ginsburg was selected from more than 500 nominees and a shortlist of five, which included some of the world’s most renowned thinkers from various fields including social science, global justice, animal rights and bioethics. For the first time since the announcement, Justice Ginsburg announced the designation of the $1M prize to the below list of charities, which support girls and women, societal causes and the arts.

Al Roker Goes Viral for Hilariously Shoving a Man Dressed as a Stick of Butter During Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Al Roker has no time for butter!

The 65-year-old TV commentator hilariously went viral during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday (November 28) with a small interaction during the parade.

At one point, Al approached a man dressed as a stick of butter and said: “I hate to butter you up, but you’ve got to move on, okay? There you go,” he said, while playfully shoving the butter man.

“Get out of here ya butter! I can’t believe it’s not butter!” he added after the shove.

Social media especially enjoyed the ridiculous interaction, with celebrities like Lin-Manuel Miranda tweeting about the “altercation.”

“You butter believe I did. That guy is toast,” Al amusingly wrote back.

'TODAY' Show Crew Show Off Their Moves As Famous Dancers For Halloween - Watch Here!

The TODAY gang went all out for Halloween!

In celebration of Halloween on Thursday morning (October 31), the anchors of the NBC morning show pulled out all the stops to celebrate the holiday with their theme, Everybody Dance TODAY, which saw them dressing up as the most famous dancers from TV and movies.

Al Roker and Craig Melvin went as The Fresh Prince of Bel Air‘s Carlton and Will, Peter Alexander danced it out as Kevin Bacon in Footloose, Dylan Dreyer mimicked Elaine’s (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) memorably awkward moves from Seinfeld, Willie Geist and Jenna Bush Hager brought some Dirty Dancing into the mix, Sheinelle Jones turned it out as Janet Jackson in her “Rhythm Nation” phase, Hoda Kotb channeled John Travolta as Tony in Saturday Night Fever, and lastly, Savannah Guthrie and Carson Daly closed it out as Sandy and Danny from Grease!

Some of the hosts later got special messages from the stars they portrayed, including Jackson, Olivia Newton John, who portrayed Grease‘s Sandy, and Alfonso Ribeiro, the original Carlton.

Jordin Sparks Extends Run in Broadway's 'Waitress,' Al Roker to Rejoin Cast!

Jordin Sparks has extended her limited engagement in the Broadway musical Waitress and it was just announced that Al Roker will return to the cast!

The 29-year-old former American Idol winner was originally supposed to stay in the show through October 27, but now she has extended her run through November 24.

Al will play Old Joe again from November 1 through November 24. The musical is set to close on Broadway on January 5.

Jordin made an appearance on The Today Show to announce the news with Al on Thursday morning (October 10) in New York City. You can see photos of her outside of the studio in the gallery. Watch the video below!

Tamron Hall Debuts Baby Bump at ADAPT Leadership Awards 2019!

“First event with bump!”

Tamron Hall happily showed off her growing baby bump while hitting the red carpet at the 2019 ADAPT Leadership Awards held at the Cipriani 42nd Street on Thursday evening (March 14) in New York City.

“3 days ago this fit. Bump waits on no one or any fashion,” the pregnant former Today show host captioned with her Instagram post. “First event with bump. @tenelleveira on face @johnnywright220 on hair and someone needs to be on invisible tape before I leave lol. #babyonboard A FEW MORE WEEKS TO GO!!!”

Tamron was also joined at the event by Susan Lucci, David Muir, Tony Danza and her former Today show co-host Al Roker and his wife Deborah Roberts, who were the gala’s honorary co-chairs, while Hall was honored for her leadership work by the ADAPT Community Network, which helps individuals and families living with challenges such as autism, cerebral palsy, down syndrome and neuromuscular disorders.
