Solange Knowles and Alan Ferguson have separated.

The 33-year-old A Seat at the Table singer and the 56-year-old music video director have parted ways, Solange confirmed in a message on her Instagram on Friday (November 1).

“the past 2 years have brought me more physical and spiritual transition and evolution than ever before my body left me with no choice but to listen and be still within that stillness i begin my journey in confronting my worst enemy, fear,” she wrote.

“ive lived my best and worst moments in front of the lens and gaze of the world since i was a teenager. ive always tried to live in my truth no matter how ugly or full of love it is. ive also tried to carve out the space to protect my heart, and my life as it unfolds, evolves, and changes. 11 years ago i met a phenomenal man who changed every existence of my life. early this year we separated and parted ways, (and tho it ain’t nan no body business 😭) i find it necessary to protect the sacredness of my personal truth and to live in it fully just as I have before and will continue to do. it is unfair to not have power of your own story as you shape and mold and rewrite it yourself. a n–a ain’t perfect, but im leaning into the fear of the unknown and all the glory and power i know exist within god and the universes grace. may all of your transitions no matter how big or small, be kind to you and filled with incredible love and light!”

Solange and Alan got married back in November of 2014 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Solange Knowles leads the way as she and husband Alan Ferguson head back to their car after stepping out for lunch on Sunday afternoon (March 24) in Los Angeles.

The 32-year-old singer looked stylish in a purple jacket and black and white printed pants while the 55-year-old music video director kept things casual in a black sweatshirt and matching sweatpants as they stepped out for a bite to eat.

Solange and Alan tied the knot in 2014 and have kept a very low profile since. The last time we have them photographed together was back in 2017.

Solange Knowles took to Twitter to seemingly respond to her sister Beyonce‘s Album of the Year loss at the 2017 Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center on Sunday (February 12) in Los Angeles.

The 30-year-old singer, who won her first Grammy last night in the category for Best R&B Performance for her song “Cranes in the Sky,” tweeted just minutes after Adele won over Beyonce for Album of the Year.

“wuddup frank,” Solange wrote along with a link to Frank Ocean‘s post about why he decided not to submit his albums for Grammy consideration.

Adele swept the top three categories at the Grammys and she didn’t think she deserved the top honor of the night. During her acceptance speech, she tearfully told Bey that she couldn’t “possibly accept this award” and then broke her award in half, seemingly to give a piece to her idol!

A few days earlier, Solange attended Love On Louisiana: An Essence Hometown Heroes Tribute, a holiday dinner held in in Baton Rouge, La., that honored standout students and teachers affected by the Louisiana flood of 2016.

“Me being in awe of the heros like teenagers Jeremiah, Jermain, and Levi Lewis who courageously helped rescue and rebuild after the Baton Rouge floods,” Solange wrote on her Instagram along with a photo from the event. “Thank you for letting me be apart of #loveonlouisiana to let the world know that Baton Rouge is not forgotten, and that there is still a lot of work to do…. and to honor those who already did so much of it. Thank you to my wonderful mother and to Essence for the endless work you have done to uplift these extraordinary people.”
