Director Ari Aster has set the cast for his next movie with A24!

For those who aren’t familiar with him, Ari is the director behind horror movies like Hereditary and Midsommar, as well as the dark comedy Beau Is Afraid.

Oscar winners Emma Stone and Joaquin Phoenix will lead the cast of Ari‘s upcoming movie Eddington alongside Pedro Pascal and some other major names.

The new Ari Aster film Beau Is Afraid, starring Joaquin Phoenix, is now playing in IMAX theaters in NY and LA ahead of a wide release next weekend.

Joaquin Phoenix Is All Smiles for L.A. Premiere of His New Movie 'Beau Is Afraid'

Joaquin Phoenix and director Ari Aster have brought their new film Beau Is Afraid to L.A.

The guys were on the red carpet for the A24 film’s west coast premiere on Monday night (April 10) at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles.

Also in attendance were co-stars Zoe Lister-Jones, Parker Posey, Kylie Rogers, Julia Antonelli, Richard Kind, Michael Gandolfini, and Armen Nahapetian, who plays the younger version of Joaquin.

In Beau Is Afraid, a paranoid man goes on an epic odyssey in order to get back home. The A24 film will be released in New York and Los Angeles on April 14 and everywhere on April 21. Watch the new trailer!

Joaquin Phoenix Joins 'Beau Is Afraid' Cast at NYC Screening - Watch the New Trailer!

Joaquin Phoenix kept a low profile at a screening for his highly anticipated new movie Beau Is Afraid.

The 48-year-old Oscar-winning actor joined writer and director Ari Aster along with most of his co-stars at the New York City screening on Thursday (April 6) at Metrograph in downtown Manhattan.

Also in attendance were Amy Ryan, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Kylie Rogers, Armen Nahapetian, and Julia Antonelli.

In Beau Is Afraid, a paranoid man goes on an epic odyssey in order to get back home. The A24 film will be released in New York and Los Angeles on April 14 and everywhere on April 21. Watch the new trailer below!

Joaquin Phoenix is taking on a new role!

The 46-year-old Joker actor is set to star in Ari Aster‘s new A24 feature Disappointment Blvd., via THR on Thursday (February 18).

A24 and Ari worked together on Hereditary and Midsommar.

Disappointment Blvd. is described as an “intimate, decades-spanning portrait of one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time.” Further plot details have yet to be revealed.

'Midsommar' Director Ari Aster is Working on a Four-Hour 'Nightmare Comedy' Film

Ari Aster is teasing his next movie!

The 33-year-old director of Midsommar and Hereditary teased some info about his upcoming project, saying that he just finished a draft of a new movie, calling it a “nightmare comedy.”

“All I know is that it’s gonna be four hours long, [and rated] over 17 [years of age],” Ari teased in an interview with the UC Santa Barbara’s Associated Students Program Board.

Besides teasing the apparent length of the upcoming movie, Ari didn’t share any other info at the time.

Fans don’t know if Ari is actually telling the truth, since he previously referred to Midsommar as an “apocalyptic break-up movie.”

Midsommar is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video now.

'Midsommar' Director Reveals 30 Minutes of Extra Footage Will Be Added for Director's Cut

Ari Aster, the breakout director of the horror film Midsommar, has revealed that a director’s cut for the movie will include 30 minutes of additional footage.

The filmmaker opened up about the movie during a Reddit AMA.

“Working on extended cut now. Won’t be 1 hr 20 mins longer, but will be at least 30 mins longer,” he revealed.

Ari also said the movie originally had an NC-17 rating. “Yes, we had an NC-17 for 6 weeks. Lots of back-and-forth with them,” he said.

Midsommar, starring Florence Pugh and Jack Reynor, has grossed $14 million so far at the domestic box office after eight days in theaters.
