The cast of Barbie experienced life in plastic while filming 2023′s hottest, Oscar-nominated blockbuster. The very pink extravaganza grossed over $1 billion in less than a month and became the top grossing movie of 2023 in North America!

With a star-studded cast centered around Margot Robbie‘s Barbie and Ryan Gosling‘s Ken, the movie from director Greta Gerwig features a talented (and wealthy) talent pool.

After the revealing of the 2024 Oscar nominations, which featured some noteworthy snubs but gave Barbie a lot of love regardless, we did some digging and looked at the estimated net worth of the biggest celebrities to appear in the movie and ranked them. Actors are speaking out after Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie did not receive Oscar nominations for Best Director and Best Actress, respectively.

The 40-year-old director and the 33-year-old actress were expected to be recognized for their work on their hit Barbie film.

However, they were only acknowledged in the Best Picture category. Their costars, Ryan Gosling and America Ferrera, were nominated for their supporting roles.

Since the nominations were announced on Friday (January 23), lots of celebrities have reacted to the surprising Barbie-related results.

While several celebrities are disappointed about the “snubs,” others don’t see an issue with the nominations the way they are.

Eva Mendes is speaking out to defend her longtime partner Ryan Gosling against the backlash he’s been receiving for his role as Ken in Barbie and for receiving an Oscar nomination for his work.

The actress shared a Rolling Stone article from June 2022, a year before the movie came out, with the headline “Sorry to Be the One to Say It, but Ryan Gosling Is Giving Major Cringe as Ken in Barbie.”

America Ferrera is speaking out about her co-workers from the Barbie movie.

Earlier in the day, America received a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her work in the film. However, the film’s director, Greta Gerwig, and producer and lead actress Margot Robbie, were shut out from the Best Director and Best Actress nominations.

The 39-year-old star spoke out in an interview with Deadline about the nominations, which had her “a little bit in shock.”
