Tennis Stars Casper Ruud & Lorenzo Musetti Play with Puppies, Give Back to Local Community Ahead of Miami Open

Norway’s Casper Ruud and Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti helped groom puppies while volunteering during the Miami Open Unites campaign on Monday (March 20) in Miami, Fla.

The Miami Open tennis tournament kicked off this week and tennis stars wanted to give back before the action started. This day of service helped South Florida’s most vulnerable in various philanthropic initiatives across Miami-Dade County.

Other ATP players who lent a helping hand included Canada’s Felix Auger Aliassime and China’s Yibing Wu as well at WTA players – USA’s Madison Keys and Alycia Parks, Czechia’s Barbora Krejcikova, and Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic. Check out the gallery of all of the players volunteering their time!

The Humane Society of Greater Miami had players groom animals, increasing their chances of adoption. The initiative aims to create a better life for the animals that need care and love.

Other players participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters’ First Serve Miami Clinic at the Moore Park Tennis Center, founded by Miami Open founder Butch Buchholz and tennis legend Arthur Ashe. The clinic is designed to ignite the potential of at-risk youth (Littles) by matching them with committed adult mentors (Bigs).

ATP, WTA, Miami Open also showed support with financial contributions to all of the participating organizations.

ICYMI: Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas and Denmark’s Holger Rune helped plant seedlings at the urban vegetable gardens nonprofit Health in the Hood’s community garden.

Tennis Stars Stefanos Tsitsipas & Holger Rune Give Back to Local Community Ahead of Miami Open

The Miami Open tennis tournament kicks off this week and Denmark’s Holger Rune and Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas were just two of the ATP stars who volunteered during the Miami Open Unites campaign on Monday (March 20) in Miami, Fla.

This day of service helps South Florida’s most vulnerable in various philanthropic initiatives across Miami-Dade County. ATP players who participated included Italy’s Jannik Sinner, UK’s Andy Murray, USA’s Sebastian Korda, Australia’s Alex de Minaur and Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman.

WTA stars included Czechia’s Marie Bouzková and Karolina Pliskova, Spain’s Paula Badosa, Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic, France’s Carolina Garcia, and Poland’s Magda Linette.

Volunteers assisted Rebuilding Together in painting and landscaping the home of Miami-Dade County’s veteran, Thomas Coates, retired Air Force E6 Sergeant.

Some players helped plant seedlings at Health in the Hood‘s community garden, with all produce grown distributed free-of-charge to families, local food pantries, churches, and community centers.

The last group of tennis players helped The Miami Rescue Mission prep meals as they serve dinner to those living at the shelter, providing much-needed assistance to the homeless of South Florida.
