The Bachelor's Ben Higgins & Lauren Bushnell Are 'Better Than Ever' After Calling Off Wedding

Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell are celebrating their one-year anniversary just a few days after announcing that they have called off their wedding.

The Bachelor couple got engaged on the reality show one year ago and although they’re not walking down the aisle soon, they say they’re better than ever.

“One year ago today I proposed to @laurenbushnell and even with the normal relational speed bumps our relationship has continued to mold us both into better partners and better people. I am lucky to have her, we are doing very well!” Ben wrote on his Instagram.

On Twitter he added, “One year ago today I started my life with @LaurenBushnell3 and we are better today than ever before.”

The Bachelor's Ben Higgins & Lauren Bushnell Call Off Wedding

It looks like a wedding between The Bachelor‘s Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell won’t be happening anytime soon.

During the latest episode of Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After?, the couple revealed that they had called off the wedding during a couples therapy session.

While Ben expressed that he wants to marry Lauren eventually, he explained that he didn’t want to rush things, especially since the process had been so nontraditional.

“The wedding’s off…I think this thing sped up real fast, and we haven’t had a second to breathe,” Ben expressed.

Lauren went on to explain that she was totally blindsided and hurt by Ben‘s comments as she had left her life and job in LA to come live in Denver with him.

Although the couple haven’t split, the wedding is officially off for now.

Bachelor's Ben Higgins Decides Not to Run for Office After All

Ben Higgins has decided not to run for office despite reports that he would be running for the House of Representatives in Colorado.

“I regret that I must withdraw my candidacy,” the 28-year-old reality star, who is engaged to Lauren Bushnell, said in a statement to JustJared.com.

“Despite my best efforts to pursue this opportunity in good faith, I recently received information that has made such a pursuit unworkable,” Ben said. “Due to unforeseen circumstances, I will not be able to move forward as a candidate. I find solace in knowing that our intentions and actions have been fair and sincere. I entered into this endeavor wanting to bring positive change to my community, and it is with that same spirit that I will move forward, albeit on a different path.”

Ben was set to run as a Republican in the House District 4 race.

The Bachelor's Ben Higgins Is Officially Running for Office

Ben Higgins, the man who vied for the hearts of the women and America on the most recent season of The Bachelor, is officially running for the House of Representatives.

The 28-year-old reality star, who is engaged to Lauren Bushnell, is running for the House of Representatives in Colorado as a member of the Republican party.

Ben filed a nomination form this past Friday, according to the Denver Post. He is running for House District 4 against Democratic incumbent Dan Pabon, who recently pleaded guilty for driving under the influence and was sentenced to a year of probation.

The Bachelor‘s Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell are getting their own reality show on Freeform!

The new show, Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After, will follow the engaged couple as they prepare to walk down the aisle. The new program will also explore Ben‘s interest in politics and Lauren establishing her identity after the competition show. Ben and Lauren got engaged last season on The Bachelor. The show will also feature special appearances from Bachelor and Bachelorette favorites from over the years.
