The brand new album The Greatest Showman – Reimagined is out now!

The all-star companion album features new version of the songs originally found on the chart-topping soundtrack. Some of the highlights include Pink‘s “A Million Dreams,” Kelly Clarkson‘s “Never Enough,” Panic! At the Disco‘s “The Greatest Show,” and Sara Bareilles‘ “Tightrope.”

The Greatest Showman soundtrack, featuring the music of Oscar winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, was certified 2x platinum for sales in excess of two million copies. It is one of only three albums released since December 2017 to receive 2x platinum certification.

Katy Perry has released her own version of the song “Waving Through a Window” from the Tony-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen!

The pop star recorded the song for the Deluxe Edition of the Broadway musical’s cast recording. She released a statement in which she talked about seeing the show for the first time last year and how she related to the song.

“On April 29, 2017, I went and saw Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway, and was emotionally transformed forever. In my own life, I’ve struggled with depression, and like so many, always feeling alone in the battle of wanting to belong,” Katy said. “That night, I was particularly struck by the song ‘Waving Through A Window.’ It embodied the mental isolation I sometimes fought.”

“So when my friends Benj Pasek and Justin Paul came to me and asked if I would like to record this song, not only to help launch the national tour, but to continue the conversation on mental health and all its complexities, I jumped right in. I hope this song helps you know that you are not alone, and that I’m waiving back at you,” Katy added.

Katy Perry joins composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul on the red carpet at the opening night performance of Dear Evan Hansen at the Ahmanson Theatre on Friday night (October 20) in Los Angeles.

The 33-year-old entertainer was one of the many celebs at the event and she sat in the audience alongside her longtime friend Johnny Wujek.

Benj and Justin won a Tony Award and a Grammy Award for writing the music to the show. They only need an Emmy to complete their EGOT thanks to their Oscar from La La Land.

More members from the creative team who attended the opening included director Michael Greif, book writer Steven Levenson, and producer Stacey Mindich.

Dear Evan Hansen will play at the Ahmanson though November 25 before departing for other cities across the country.

The smash hit Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen will soon become a young adult novel that you can read at home!

Val Emmich has written an adaptation of the Tony-winning show, which will be published this October by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers.

The show’s writer Steven Levenson explained to The New York Times why the creative team behind the musical decided to turn it into a novel.

“We have felt a certain discomfort with the fact that it is so expensive to come see the show, we can only have 1,000 people a night, and there are so many people who can’t come to New York,” he said. “There were people responding to the show without having even seen it, and we did feel like, what are some ways that we can get this show to more people?”

There will also be parts of the book that you don’t get to experience in the show, including moments that are only alluded to on stage. Composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul sent Emmich songs that weren’t used for the musical and Levenson provided scenes that were cut. The material was reworked to be used in the novel!

The entertainer will be hitting the stage during the show to perform the song “This Is Me.”

Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the writers of the song, hit the red carpet looking so handsome. They are nominated for Best Original Song and they won in that same category last year for their work on the movie La La Land.
