The legendary entertainer celebrated her 70th birthday that day and she was presented with a cake on stage at the show!

Bernadette thanked the crowd and said, “Thanks for being here for my birthday! It’s not every day a girl turns 39!”

Bernadette is currently starring in the Tony-winning musical with Victor Garber. In addition to appearing in the show eight times a week, she’s also starring in the Amazon series Mozart in the Jungle and will appear in The Good Fight‘s second season, debuting this Sunday on CBS All Access.

The legendary star replaced Bette Midler in the title role of the musical, which won Best Revival last year at the Tonys.

Also stepping out for the party were Tony nominee Kate Baldwin with the show’s new stars Charlie Stemp and Molly Griggs.

“Opening Night. ‘Hello Dolly’ with this Extraordinary Wonderful cast ❤️ Love you All‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️,” Bernadette tweeted ahead of the performance.

The legendary actress hosts a Halloween party every year to benefit the great cause and she hosted some of Broadway’s best this year.

Bette was joined at the event by future Hello, Dolly! stars Bernadette Peters and Victor Garber, as well as Tony winner Ben Platt. Her daughter Sophie von Haselberg was there too!

“.@Mollyjgordon and I were cut from The Deuce on HBO. The wound is still fresh. Happy Halloween,” Ben tweeted about his costume.

Also in attendance were fashionista Dita Von Teese and designer Michael Kors.

Broadway will officially be saying “hello” to a new Dolly next year when Bernadette Peters joins the cast of Hello, Dolly!

The legendary Broadway star is set to replace Tony winner Bette Midler in the title role and it is rumored that Victor Garber will be joining her in the cast.

The news was announced after Victor‘s husband Rainer Andreesen accidentally wrote about the casting in a public comment on Instagram.

While Victor‘s casting has not been officially announced yet, BroadwayWorld.com reports that the news will be announced later this month with more casting changes.

Bernadette‘s first performance is on January 20 and her official opening night is schedule for February 22. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, September 9.

Maggie Gyllenhaal and her husband Peter Sarsgaard hit the red carpet at the opening night of the musical Sunday in the Park with George on Thursday night (February 23) at the Hudson Theatre in New York City.

The actress stepped out to see her brother Jake Gyllenhaal perform in his return to Broadway.

Other celebs at the opening included Uzo Aduba, cute couple Zoe Kazan and Paul Dano, Cobie Smolders, Fran Drescher, Holland Taylor, Kathy Najimy, Rosie O’Donnell, Holly Hunter, and Bernadette Peters, who starred in the original production of the Broadway show.
