Americans are watching a ton of television and movies!

The Top 10 most streamed programs of the week from August 28 to September 3, 2023 has been revealed, via Nielsen.

The company has revealed how Americans are spending their time watching TV and movies, using data from Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings (Amazon Prime, AppleTV+, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu, Paramount+, Peacock and Netflix), Nielsen National TV Panel, U.S. Viewing through Television.

This week’s No. 1 most-streamed program is actually a TV show that ended several years ago, while a few new shows and movies are creeping up to the top spot.

Running for 12 seasons across as many years, there’s no denying that The Big Bang Theory is a fan-favorite TV show that still has a dedicated following in 2023.

However, even the most adoring fans might not know all of the behind-the-scenes secrets from the beloved sitcom.

Revolving around Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar, so much happened onscreen, but it turns out that just as much was going on when fans weren’t watching.

The Big Bang Theory was almost a very different show.

A lot of fans of the show know that before Kaley Cuoco was cast as Penny, it was Amanda Walsh who played the female lead, Katie.

However, after the pilot was shot and presented to the network, the character of Katie and a few other elements weren’t perceived that well.

That’s when the show was reworked a bit, and Kaley was cast as Penny, and according to former CBS executive Nina Tassler, it was Kaley who helped the show make it to the air.

Mayim Bialik is sharing her thoughts on the upcoming Big Bang Theory spinoff.

Earlier this month, HBO Max announced that they had teamed up with executive producer Chuck Lorre to develop a new comedy series derived from the hit CBS sitcom that ran for 12 seasons from 2007 to 2019.

While stepping out for the 2023 Los Angeles LGBT Center Gala on Saturday (April 22), Mayim, 47, revealed if her character Amy Farrah Fowler would be appearing in the spinoff.
