Artists Who Have Never Had a No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 Hit

Being a superstar doesn’t always mean having chart hits.

From massive rock groups and boy bands to iconic vocalists and singer-songwriters, there are countless acts that have managed to inspire generations of entertainers and win over millions of fans without having ever actually notched a No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Over the years, there have been some especially surprising icons who would seem to have a few No. 1s under their belt, but for whatever reason, their songs never managed to wind up sitting at the top spot of the chart.

Not having a No. 1 doesn’t take away from these talented artists’ repertoire, and it’s pretty interesting to see how charts don’t always mean everything when it comes to a musician’s success and impact on the culture.

Taylor Swift Has 8 of the Top 10 Songs on the Billboard Hot 100 This Week - Find Out Which Song Is No. 1!

Taylor Swift is simply unstoppable.

The 33-year-old 1989 singer-songwriter topped the Billboard Hot 100, and then took seven more spots in the Top 10, as of this week’s chart.

The massive feat comes after the release of her 1989 (Taylor’s Version), which became her first re-recording to actually outsell the original version’s opening week, and broke a bunch of records.

Now, a bunch of the songs from that re-recorded album are hovering in this week’s Top 10.

Billboard Music Awards 2023 - Full List of Nominees Released!

The 2023 Billboard Music Awards nominees have been revealed!

Taylor Swift leads the nominees for the ceremony, which is set for Sunday, November 19.

Taylor is nominated in 20 categories, and is already the top female BBMAs recipient of all time with 29 wins. She could surpass Drake to become the top overall leader, who has won 34 BBMAs and is a finalist for 14 more this year.

Performances and awards will roll out across the BBMAs and Billboard social channels, as well as via BBMAs.watch on Sunday, November 19. Billboard Music Awards performers will be revealed daily on BBMAs social channels, starting Monday, November 6.

Nine new awards were unveiled this year, including top global K-pop artist, top K-pop tour, top K-pop album and top global K-pop song, as well as top Afrobeats artist and top Afrobeats song.

The BBMAs are also adding new categories for top Hot 100 songwriter and top Hot 100 producer, plus a new award for top rock duo/group.

Taylor Swift & Jack Antonoff Celebrate 'Cruel Summer' Topping the Billboard Hot 100 in 'Deep Fall'

Taylor Swift and he co-writer and co-producer Jack Antonoff are celebrating their latest chart win after “Cruel Summer” claimed the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100!

The track, which was never released as a formal single and was included on 2019′s Lover, has become a viral hit four years later. It hit the pinnacle position on Billboard’s weekly chart this week, becoming Taylor‘s 10th No. 1 on the chart and making her part of an exclusive group.

'Cruel Summer' Becomes Taylor Swift's 10th Song to Hit No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 - Revisit Her 10 Chart Toppers!

Taylor Swift just hit an exciting milestone on the Billboard Hot 100!

The 33-year-old pop titan’s “Cruel Summer,” originally released in 2019 and included on her album Lover, hit No. 1 on the weekly chart.

After taking four years, one month and three weeks to top the chart (it did so for the chart dated October 28, 2023), Billboard noted that only four other songs have taken more time to reach the pinnacle position – The Weeknd‘s “Die for You,” Sheriff‘s “When I’m With You,” Ub40‘s “Red Red Wine” and Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

More importantly, “Cruel Summer” has become Taylor‘s 10th song to top the Billboard Hot 100. It boosts her to an exclusive group of only 11 artists who have 10 or more chart toppers to their name.
