Audra McDonald Gets Raves for New Show 'Shuffle Along'

Audra McDonald holds a large bouquet of flowers while making her opening night bow for her Broadway musical Shuffle Along on Thursday night (April 28) a the Music Box Theatre in New York City.

The theater legend, who has won Tony Awards in every possible acting category, was joined on stage by her co-stars Brian Stokes Mitchell, Billy Porter, Joshua Henry, and Brandon Victor Dixon, among others.

Audra is of course getting raves for her work.

“It goes without saying at this point that there’s nothing the superhuman McDonald can’t do onstage, but rarely do we get to see her cut loose in exuberant comedic mode to the extent she does here,” The Hollywood Reporter said. “Even beyond her numbers, McDonald kills it with her timing – every word, look or gesture smacks its target.”
