Exciting news – the cast of the upcoming Disney Channel sequel Descendants 2 is shaping up and China Anne McClain has joined the film.

The 17-year-old actress will be playing the role of Uma, the daughter of The Little Mermaid‘s villain Ursula.

It was also confirmed that Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Booboo Stewart, Sofia Carson, and Mitchell Hope will reprise their starring roles as Mal, Carlos, Jay, Evie and King Ben, respectively.

Two more characters are yet to be cast – the progeny of villains Captain Hook and Gaston!

“Just when you thought ‘Happily Ever After’ had come to the land of Auradon, Descendants 2 turns the page to reveal a whole new level of mystery and surprise,” Gary Marsh, the president of Disney Channels Worldwide, teased in a statement.

Kenny Ortega will return as director, executive producer, and choreographer. Production will begin this summer for a premiere date in 2017!

The event was held to celebrate the season 2 premiere of Amazon Prime’s Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street. To tie in to the show’s themes of friendship, we invited lots of inner city kids, local youths, and foster families to the event to make new friendships and enjoy a fun-filled day with activities such as a petting zoo, arts and crafts, a balloon artist, and yummy food.

“Had a dope time with the youngins at the @justjared @justjaredjr #FallFunDay the kids were too cute😍😊,” Zendaya wrote on Instagram along with the below photo of herself and some of the kids.

Zendaya was joined at the event by her former Shake It Up co-stars Adam Irigoyen and Kenton Duty, as well as the McClain sisters – China Anne, Lauryn, and Sierra.
