Chris Hardwick teared up during his emotional return to Talking Dead following accusations by his ex Chloe Dykstra, who accused an unnamed ex-boyfriend of emotional and sexual abuse back in June.

The 46-year-old stand-up comedian and host opened up during AMC’s Talking Dead on Sunday night (August 12), though he did not specifically address the allegations.

“Normally I recap the show we’re about to talk about here, but instead I just wanted to take a minute to say that I am so appreciative to be standing here right now and I want to thank you, the Walking Dead community, for all of your support these last couple of months,” he said. “This show is not just a job to me, this is a vital part of my life, this has been a sanctuary these last seven years we’ve been here.”

“This has been with me through good times and bad times, and I have so much gratitude to you the fans, the producers, and the casts of these amazing shows for allowing me to be a part of this community every week,” he continued. “This is what this is, a community, and we’re on the precipice of a lot of changes on both Walking Dead shows in the coming weeks and months, and I am so looking forward to going on that journey with you. And I’ve said the following words a million times, countless times, [and] I’ve never been more thankful than I am in this moment to say to you: I am Chris Hardwick and this is Talking Dead.”

He also did not mention the exit of co-EP Jen Patton and other Talking Dead staffers who disagreed with his reinstatement, Deadline reports.

Chris has denied any wrongdoing.

Lydia Hearst, the wife of Chris Hardwick, has come forward with a statement about her husband amid his allegations of abuse and misconduct by his former girlfriend Chloe Dykstra.

“I have made the decision to come out in support of my husband not out of obligation, but out of necessity to speak the truth about the person I know,” Lydia posted in a statement on her Instagram account. “Chris is nothing but loving and compassionate and is the only person who has stood by me, never judged me, helped me heal, and feel whole. To defend my husband would be giving credence to any of these accusations. I will not do that. Chris Hardwick is a good man.”

Lydia continued, “I remain in complete support of my husband, and I believe that the truth will always win. #TimesUp because I know my truth and I believe in due process.”

Chris has denied all allegations.

Chloe Dykstra has written a note to her fans thanking them for supporting her amid allegations of abuse against a former boyfriend, who has been allegedly identified as Chris Hardwick.

“Thank you all so, so much. The outpouring of support and love I’ve received over the past few days has been incredible and unexpected. The people who have come forward with both stories validating mine, and stories of their own personal experience, have helped me immensely with my own healing process. After years of therapy and rebuilding your support has done so much for me than all of it combined,” she wrote. “It is my hope, and it always was, that women and men on both sides of abuse will make changes to either protect themselves or to stop the cycle of pain their own behavior can cause.”

“Having been able to lift from my shoulder that which was weighing me down, I’m ready to move forwards in my life, finally instead of looking back with fear and sadness,” Chloe continued.

Chris has responded to the allegations and denied any wrongdoing.

True Blood actor Robert Kazinsky, who has been dating actress Chloe Dykstra for over two years, is speaking out to show her support and also slam Chris Hardwick‘s statement in response to Chloe‘s accusations against him.

Chloe claims that she was emotionally abused and sexually assaulted by Chris during their three-year relationship, which he denied in a statement on Friday night.

Right after Chloe published her article, Robert tweeted out the link and said, “Please take the time to read this, it concerns the person I love most in the world, the bravest I know. Please learn from it and understand how easy it it to end up here.”

He added, “Sometimes it’s not about the abuser, it’s about the abused telling their story, the important thing isn’t the end result but rather the process. Names were never mentioned because it’s about her and other women who might be in danger. And for us who never saw the warning signs.”

Chris Hardwick is speaking out after ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra accused an unnamed ex-boyfriend of emotional and sexual abuse.

The 49-year-old actor issued to statement to strongly deny that he ever assaulted Chloe and expressed that he was “blindsided” by her article.

“These are very serious allegations and not to be taken lightly which is why I’ve taken the day to consider how to respond. I was heartbroken to read Chloe’s post. Our three year relationship was not perfect – we were ultimately not a good match and argue – even shouted at each other – but I loved her, and did my best to uplift and support her as a partner and companion in any way and at no time did I sexually assault her,” Chris wrote.

He added, “When we were living together, I found out that Chloe had cheated on me, and I ended the relationship. For several weeks after we broke up, she asked to get back together with me and even told me she wanted to have kids with me, ‘build a life’ with me and told me that I was ‘the one,’ but I did not want to be with someone who was unfaithful. I’m devastated to read that she is now accusing me of conduct that did not occur. l was blindsided by her post and always wanted the best for her. As a husband, a son, and future father, I do not condone any kind of mistreatment of women.”

Chloe Dykstra is speaking out to accuse an unnamed ex-boyfriend of emotional and sexual abuse, and fans are pretty sure she’s referring to Chris Hardwick.

The 29-year-old actress wrote an article for Medium in which she details the “controlling behavior” she fell victim to while dating a man almost 20 years her senior while in her early 20s.

Chloe says her abuser established rules within two weeks of their relationship beginning. These rules included her reserving every night for him, not having male friends, not drinking as he was sober, not speaking in public places, and not taking photos of them as a couple. She says she was expected to be ready for him when he came home from work and she “let him sexually assault” her regularly.

Chloe wrote that her ex-boyfriend “was obsessed with celebrity, being famous, famous people” and “only really made time for industry people who he considered ‘worth it’… When cameras were on us? He was a prince. Turn them off, he was a nightmare.”

During the relationship, Chloe lost 15 pounds within weeks and started pulling out her hair. Eventually, when she broke up with him after three years of dating, he blacklisted her from the industry.

“Because of my leaving him for someone else, he made calls to several companies I received regular work from to get me fired by threatening to never work with them. He succeeded. I was blacklisted,” Chloe said.

Chloe concluded her article, “To the man who tried to ruin my future: A sincere and heartfelt apology could have made my last four years a hell of a lot easier. The person I used to date would try to sue me due to pride- I would not recommend it. I have audio/video that will support and prove many of the things I’ve stated in this post. I’ve chosen not to include it for your sake, in the hopes that the person you’ve become will do the right thing.”

Chris is the host of NBC’s game show The Wall and AMC’s The Talking Dead. He co-founded the company Nerdist and the company has scrubbed all references to him from their website, pending investigation.
