The first trailer for In the Heights, the new movie-musical from Lin-Manuel Miranda, has just debuted!

The film stars Anthony Ramos, Corey Hawkins, Leslie Grace, Melissa Barrera, Olga Merediz, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Gregory Diaz IV, Stephanie Beatriz, Dascha Polanco, and Jimmy Smits.

Here’s a synopsis of the movie: Lights up on Washington Heights…The scent of a cafecito caliente hangs in the air just outside of the 181st Street subway stop, where a kaleidoscope of dreams rallies this vibrant and tight-knit community. At the intersection of it all is the likeable, magnetic bodega owner Usnavi (Ramos), who saves every penny from his daily grind as he hopes, imagines and sings about a better life.

The film will hit theaters on June 26, 2020.

Sophie Turner has joined the cast of the upcoming series Survive, marking her first television role since the end of Game of Thrones!

The new series will air on the upcoming streaming service Quibi and the show will also star Corey Hawkins.

Here is the show’s synopsis: When Jane’s (Turner) plane crashes on a remote snow-covered mountain, she must pull herself out of the wreckage and fight for her life alongside Paul (Hawkins), the only other remaining survivor. Together they embark on a harrowing journey out of the wilderness, battling brutal conditions and personal traumas.

“I couldn’t be more honored to portray the role of Jane in Survive for Quibi” Sophie said in a statement. “She’s a complex character fighting against the odds to not only save her life, but to also find her own source of strength and courage. I only hope this can impact anyone struggling with self-worth to understand they are braver than they know and to seek the support they need.”

The guys filmed the musical’s pivotal “96,000″ scene alongside co-stars Gregory Diaz IV as Sonny and Noah Catala is Graffiti Pete.

The movie is based on the hit show by Lin-Manuel Miranda, which won the award for Best Musical in 2008.

The film adaptation of In the Heights will hit theaters on June 26, 2020.

Leslie Grace, Corey Hawkins and Jon M. Chu are filming scenes for In The Heights!

The co-stars and director were spotted filming the “When You’re Home” scene from Act I of the musical on Wednesday (June 5) in New York City.

The upcoming film feature version of the Broadway musical follows a bodega owner who has mixed feelings about closing his store and retiring to the Dominican Republic after inheriting his grandmother’s fortune.

Jon is directing the film, which features Leslie as Nina and Corey as Benny.

The show was nominated for 13 Tony Awards, and won four of them, including Best Musical in 2008.

Corey Hawkins has reportedly landed a role in Jon M. Chu’s movie adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony winning musical In the Heights.

The 30-year-old Straight Outta Compton star will reportedly star as Benny in the movie musical, Deadline reports. In the Broadway musical, Benny falls in love with his employer’s daughter, Nina.

In the Heights is set to open on June 26, 2020 with Anthony Ramos in the lead role of Usnavi. No other casting has been announced at this time, but stay tuned!

John David Washington and Adam Driver bring BlacKkKlansman to the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards!

The 34-year-old Ballers star and the 35-year-old Star Wars: The Last Jedi actor took the stage to present at the event held at the Shrine Auditorium on Sunday (January 27) in Los Angeles.

They were joined by their co-stars Corey Hawkins and Topher Grace, who brought along his wife Ashley Hinshaw.

John is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in BlacKkKlansman as Ron Stallworth, and Adam is up for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his work as Flip Zimmerman. The cast is also nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
