John Legend walks the red carpet with original Temptations member Otis Williams at the opening night performance of the Broadway-bound musical Ain’t Too Proud on Friday night (August 24) at Center Theatre Group’s Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles.

The new musical follows the life and times of The Temptations and it’s set to open next year at the historic Imperial Theatre on Broadway. Los Angeles audiences can see the show now through September 30 and it’s one you won’t want to miss!

Other celebs in the star-studded crowd included Berry Gordy and The Supremes‘ Mary Wilson, who are both featured in the musical, as well as Lena Waithe, Danielle Brooks, Billy Crystal, Lily Tomlin, Corey Hawkins, Debbie Allen, Glee‘s Amber Riley, Young Sheldon‘s Iain Armitage, The Real‘s Loni Love, theatre actress Stephanie Styles, comedian Ali Wong, GLOW‘s Sydelle Noel, American Housewife‘s Carly Hughes, Transparent‘s Trace Lysette, Tina Knowles Lawson with her husband Richard Lawson, and Major Crimes‘ Jon Tenney with his wife, producer Leslie Urdang.

Laura Harrier is picture perfect as she hits the red carpet while attending the premiere of her anticipated film BlacKkKlansman held at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Wednesday (August 8) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 28-year-old actress was joined at the event by her co-stars John David Washington, Corey Hawkins, Damaris Lewis, Topher Grace and his wife Ashley Hinshaw, Ashlie Atkinson, and Jasper Paakkonen and his girlfriend Alexandra Escat.

Also in attendance was writer-director of the film Spike Lee and his pal Dave Chappelle, who came out to show his support.

That same evening, John David made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk about growing up around famous people, asking Morgan Freeman for an autograph, playing football, what his dad Denzel Washington was like as a sports coach growing up, and winning the grand prize at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival for BlacKkKlansman.

The movie, directed by Spike Lee, marks John David‘s biggest role to date and he was joined by his co-stars Laura Harrier, Topher Grace, Corey Hawkins, Ryan Eggold, Damaris Lewis, Jasper Paakkonen, and Ashlie Atkinson.

Also in attendance to show their support for the film included Tiffany Haddish, Zosia Mamet, and Topher‘s wife Ashley Grace.

The movie will be released in theaters on August 10.

BlacKkKlansman earned a rare 10-minute standing ovation at the festival. Here’s the film’s synopsis: “It’s the early 1970s, and Ron Stallworth (Washington) is the first African-American detective to serve in the Colorado Springs Police Department. Determined to make a name for himself, Stallworth bravely sets out on a dangerous mission: infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan. The young detective soon recruits a more seasoned colleague, Flip Zimmerman (Driver), into the undercover investigation of a lifetime. Together, they team up to take down the extremist hate group as the organization aims to sanitize its violent rhetoric to appeal to the mainstream.”

The 29-year-old Spring Breakers star supported her boyfriend Austin Butler at the Broadway event on Thursday evening (April 26) at The Jacobs Theatre in New York city.

She rocked a black one-shoulder ruffle dress with matching heels, accessorizing with black and gold dangling earrings and a black purse with a gold chain strap. Vanessa styled her hair into a bun with a middle part.

She was joined by Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri‘s Sam Rockwell, Kong: Skull Island‘s Corey Hawkins, and The Mindy Project‘s Chris Messina.

Austin is making his Broadway debut in the play, also starring Denzel Washington.

The 28-year-old actor, who recently starred in Fox’s 24: Legacy, was joined at the event by his Six Degrees of Separation co-star Allison Janney.

Corey was nominated for Best Leading Actor in a Play while Allison presented during the event alongside former Hamilton actor Christopher Jackson.

Also in attendance at the event were Michael Aronov, who won for his work in Oslo, as well as nominated actors Jennifer Ehle for Oslo, Michelle Wilson for Sweat, Danny DeVito for The Price, and Jefferson Mays for Oslo.
