Boy Meets World's Danielle Fishel Explains Why She's Keeping Her Son's Face Off Social Media

Danielle Fishel, who is known for her work on Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World, is explaining in a lengthy message why she’s keeping her newborn son Adler‘s face off of social media.

“Woof. Lotta people with questions about why I chose not to share my baby’s face on my last post. Currently, @jensenkarp and I have chosen to keep Adler‘s face off our social media pages. We are two people who made a conscious choice to be in the public eye and share what would normally be private moments with the public. Adler isn’t capable of making that choice for himself and until he is, we’ve decided to shield him from places where strangers can comment on him. It wasn’t an easy decision for us. We both love social media and sharing special moments in our lives. I also don’t have any issue posting a picture of me in a men’s bathrobe with a rice eye patch that’s healing a stye on my eye but that’s MY choice,” Danielle posted on Instagram.

Danielle added, “The truth is, choosing not to post pictures of him kinda sucks. I wanna show you my baby every day. He’s cuter than this 👼 but I worry about a couple things. 1. His safety. There are weirdos out there. Enough said. 2. Putting pictures and facts about him onto the internet that he doesn’t have any say in. I’d like for him to be able to curate his own footprint on the internet in the future without being mortified we posted about his his fear of swimming or his first crush.”

Then, Danielle added about some other celebs, “With that said, I look at people like Chrissy Teigen and I *love* how she posts about her kids and I respect her decision. It makes me think I can/should do the same thing. But then I see Kristen Bell and Dax Shepherd and I respect and understand their decision too! Also, not posting any pictures of his face does put a bit of a paparazzi bounty on him because someone will want the first image. (Maybe we allow someone to have pictures of him once and then keep him private from then on? Idk.) In the end, @jensenkarp and I had to make a decision about what we felt comfortable posting and for now (at least) we have chosen to not post his face. But I’m also not going to not post a beautiful picture of one of my best friends holding my baby for the first time because seeing an emoji over his face ticks you off. I’m sorry if that offends you but we’re doing the best we can and it’s hard. Being a parent and making decisions for your kid is tough. Fyi, dogs are easier.”

Danielle and her husband Jensen Karp welcomed Adler one month early and he spent three weeks in the NICU.

Danielle Fishel Reveals Premature Son Adler Is Headed Home After 3 Week NICU Stay

Danielle Fishel has happy news about her son Adler!

The 38-year-old actress and her husband Jensen Karp are taking Adler home after a three-week stay in the NICU.

The couple welcomed Adler one month premature, a situation Danielle described a “nightmare.”

Adler is 3 weeks old today and officially a NICU graduate! Thank you to everyone at @childrensla and especially our primary nurses @cassiejosharrod and @quyenlyyy,” Danielle wrote on her Instagram.

She continued, “We never wanted to know this hospital and its staff so well but now that we do, we can say with certainty there is no better place for children with medical needs. Now we hope to never be back. :) Finally, our love and hugs to every single parent who has ever spent time in the NICU and especially those we left behind today. ❤️❤️❤️”

We’re so happy to hear Adler is headed home!

Danielle Fishel Gives Update on Premature Son's Health After He Was Born 1 Month Early

Danielle Fishel and Jensen Karp‘s newborn son Adler was born four weeks early, and she’s giving fans an update on how he’s doing.

“We’re still in the hospital but Adler is getting better and stronger every day. @jensenkarp and I keep reminding ourselves that we are extremely lucky – Adler *will* eventually come home with us – and therefore this is nothing but an enormous test of our patience and willingness to relinquish control. Two things I have never been plentiful in but are absolutely necessary in parenthood!,” the 38-year-old Boy Meets World star posted on her Instagram.

She continued, “He is also receiving the best possible care from the most loving, warm, kind, intelligent nurses and doctors the world has ever known! Literal angels. Thank you to everyone who has sent their messages of encouragement, hope, love, and prayers for our family. They have comforted us and been such an inspiration when we’ve felt down. Now, I must get back to dressing our baby in all my favorite restaurant onesies. 😘”

Danielle previously described the situation as a “nightmare.”

We’re wishing Danielle Fishel, Jensen Karp, and baby Adler all the best!

Danielle Fishel Delivers Son 4 Weeks Early, Details 'Nightmare' She'll Never Forget

Danielle Fishel and Jensen Karp‘s are parents to a newborn son, but his delivery four weeks early has been a “nightmare” they will never forget.

“One week ago today, on 6/24 at 4:52am, Adler Lawrence Karp made his entrance into the world, 4 weeks early. My water broke on 6/20, one day before my work week directing at Raven’s Home ended and my maternity leave began. I was hospitalized that night and put on magnesium sulfate because Adler was only 35 weeks old. Unfortunately, after doing an ultrasound, our amazing OB discovered fluid in his lungs that was not there during our last appointment only 10 days earlier – and thus we entered a nightmare we’ll never forget,” Danielle began.

“We still don’t have Adler home with us because the deeply good doctors and nurses in the NICU are working diligently to find out why the fluid is there and determine the best way to get it out. This has been the most trying week and a half of mine and @jensenkarp’s lives but we have gotten through it with the support of our incredible family and friends who have shown up for us in unexpected ways. Jensen and I have also become closer than we ever thought possible and the love between us has grown exponentially as we have leaned on each other during both our highest highs and our lowest lows,” Danielle continued.

“We feel helpess and powerless and useless and we wanted so badly to follow our ‘birth plan,’ unsurprisingly none of which involved leaving our beautiful baby boy at the hospital for the first weeks of his life. We have also struggled with making this announcement – we are THRILLED Adler is here and we want to shout it from the rooftops but we know posting about his birth and it’s complications opens us up to prying eyes – aka paparazzi staked outside our house, following our every move they way they did several times during my pregnancy. We are much too fragile for that right now and I pray wholeheartedly that we can have some space as we navigate these next few weeks,” Danielle added.

“I can’t wait to share more details about him with you (he hates having a poopy diaper for even 1 minute, he loves bath time, he has the cutest sneezes I’ve ever heard) and sing the praises of his NICU care team but I prefer to do that when Adler is in this crib in his nursery at home on a still unknown future date. P.S. the fox will be removed from his crib before he’s ever in it,” she concluded.

We’re wishing Danielle, Jensen, and baby Adler well and hope he gets to go home with his parents soon.
