Younger is coming to an end.

The show’s creator, Darren Star, recently opened up in an interview with TVLine.

“We are unofficially planning [Season 7] as a final season,” he confirmed of the show, which ended its sixth season in September of 2019, and was set to shoot a seventh season in New York City until the pandemic.

Production on the show is now set to begin “in a few weeks.”

“A lot of episodes were written” before the pandemic he added, saying “the action of Younger sort of picks up where the last season left off, which was before the pandemic. But I do think we’re looking forward to incorporating it into the action as the season progresses.”

He also confirmed that a spinoff centered around Hilary Duff‘s Kelsey Peters is in development. Find out more about it…

Sutton Foster is joined on the red carpet by Debi Mazur, Nico Tortorella, and Peter Hermann at the season six premiere of Younger on Tuesday (June 4) at the William Vale in New York City.

The actors were also joined by co-stars Miriam Shor, Molly Bernard, Charles Michael Davis, and Tessa Albertson, as well as series creator Darren Star. Noticeably absent from the event was Hilary Duff, who was on the west coast.

Peter walked the carpet with wife Mariska Hargitay while Nico was joined by wife Bethany Meyers.

The sixth season of Younger will premiere on TV Land on June 12.

Sutton Foster happily gets in-between her co-stars Nico Tortorella and Peter Hermann while hitting the carpet at their special fan screening of Younger: Cast in Conversation at 92Y held on Monday (July 23) in New York City.

The three stars were joined at the event by their writer-director-creator Darren Star.

At the event, Sutton and Nico gave an update on how their other cast mate Hilary Duff has been holding up while pregnant with her second child.

“She’s doing great! I just saw her in L.A. we had a summer party and she came over and she seemed so happy and I’m so excited for her,” Sutton expressed (via ET). “We all have kids, and we’re all like sharing cute videos of [them]… and she was like, ‘Well, I have a video,’ and she shows us a sonogram! And we’re all like, ‘What?!’”

Nico added that Hilary “pulled a fast one on everyone” by keeping her pregnancy under wraps throughout production of the show’s fifth season.

The 21-year-old actress and singer hit the carpet at the event held at Sunset Tower on Thursday (January 18) in Los Angeles.

She wore a plunging black top with a black and silver belt, matching pants, and black pumps, completing her look with a pop of red lipstick.

She was joined by Selma Blair, LL Cool J, Jack Griffo, Sofia Reyes, Kira Kosarin, Taylor Kitsch, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Shannen Doherty, James Scully, Grace Victoria Cox, Cole Hauser, James Tupper, and Cheyenne Jackson.

Hailee and LL Cool J also attended the Lip Sync Battle Live: A Michael Jackson Celebration at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood that same night.

Younger, the hit TV Land series starring Sutton Foster and Hilary Duff, has been renewed for a fourth season before season three even begins airing!

“The show is a force in and of itself, so it’s a no-brainer to renew it again,” network exec Keith Cox said in a statement. “Critics and fans love it, and I know Darren [Star] and the entire cast and crew behind Younger will continue to deliver at the top of their game.”

Season two of the comedy series finished with double digit gains among all key demos versus the series’ season one average.

It was also just announced that the third season of Younger will debut on Wednesday, September 28 at 10pm.
