Sir Elton John is opening up about his personal life.
The 75-year-old “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” music icon got candid about his sons Zachary, 11, and Elijah, 9, whom he shares with his husband David Furnish, as well as their potential musical aspirations.
In a new interview following his massive Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium show, Elton spoke about his sons’ potential career path in music.

Elton John got emotional at the White House while being surprised with the honor of the National Humanities Medal.
The legendary singer-songwriter received the special award while performing at the “Night When Hope and History Rhyme” event on Friday night (September 23) in Washington, D.C.
President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden were on stage to present Elton with the honor. He was also joined by husband David Furnish.
“Tonight is my great honor, and I mean this sincerely, to present the National Humanities Medal to Sir Elton John,” Biden said.
An officer read the words on the medal, saying, “The President of the United States awards this National Humanities Medal to Sir Elton John for moving our souls with his powerful voice, one of the defining songbooks of all time. An enduring icon and advocate with absolute courage, who found purpose to challenge convention, shatter stigma and advance a simple truth: that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.”

Elton John and his husband David Furnish are enjoying their summer break!
The 75-year-old singer-songwriter and the 59-year-old producer were spotted on wearing their fun summer clothes during their vacation on Monday (August 15) in the south of France.
Elton and David were joined on the trip by their two sons Zachary, 11, and Elijah, 9 (not pictured).
Elton is currently in the middle of his final North American leg of the Farewell Yellow Brick Road world tour, though he has a full month of from performing. His next show isn’t until September 7 in Toronto!
Just before his break, Elton stopped by a performance of his new musical The Devil Wears Prada in Chicago, where its in the middle of a pre-Broadway run.

The legendary singer-songwriter was joined by his husband David Furnish while attending a performance of the musical on Wednesday night (August 3) at the James M. Nederlander Theatre in Chicago, Ill.
Elton received a standing ovation from the audience when he entered the theater and he went backstage after the show to visit with the cast.
Also seen in the photos are lyricist Shaina Taub, book writer Kate Wetherhead, choreographer James Alsop, and producer Kevin McCollum. Elton wrote the music for the show and David is a producer.
The Devil Wears Prada will be running in Chicago through August 21 and a Broadway run is planned for the future. Check out the full cast for the show!

Gaga was seen on the white carpet at the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s 30th Annual Academy Awards Viewing Party on Sunday night (March 27) in West Hollywood, Calif. At the event, she posed with Elton’s husband David Furnish on the red carpet!
Gaga was totally snubbed this year for an Oscar nomination for her work in House of Gucci. However, despite that, Gaga still decided to present an award at the big event.

Elton John is looking back at being shamed for being gay.
During an appearance on Dua Lipa‘s podcast, the 75-year-old entertainer revealed that back in 2009, he and husband David Furnish were turned down from adopting a child from an orphanage in Ukraine because they were gay.
“I was carrying this little boy around for hours. We had a press conference at the end and they said ‘You seem very fond of this little boy. Would you think of adopting him?’ and I went ‘I’d actually love to!’” Elton recalled on Dua‘s “Dua Lipa: At Your Service” podcast.
“Of course, not thinking about social media, it went around the world straight away,” he continued. “It was ‘Elton John wants to adopt two children.’”
Elton then revealed that he and David were deemed ineligible to adopt due to their sexuality.
“Because I was gay I wasn’t allowed to anyway,” Elton explained. “After that happened, David said, ‘Well, what do you think about having kids?’ I always said no but this little boy was telling me something. He was saying ‘C’mon you can be a dad,’ and that’s when we decided to have children, because of this little boy in Ukraine.”
Elton and David have since welcomed two sons via surrogate – Zachary in 2010 and Elijah in 2013.
