The new movie Amsterdam has been in theaters for just one week, but it’s already been deemed a massive failure due to its disappointing box office performance.

David O. Russell‘s latest movie received poor reviews from critics and only has a 33% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which definitely didn’t help word of mouth.

The film features a star-studded cast with A-List talent like Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Rami Malek, Robert De Niro, Anya Taylor-Joy, Taylor Swift, Michael Shannon, and more. Unfortunately the star power wasn’t enough to get fans into movie theater seats.

The movie reportedly cost $80 million to produce and an estimated $70 million to promote, though the studio is not going to make anywhere near that amount from ticket sales.

Christian Bale and Rami Malek are stepping out to promote their new movie!

The Oscar-winning actors stepped out for a special screening of their new movie Amsterdam on Tuesday afternoon (September 27) at the AMC Century City in Century City, Calif.

The movie’s director David O. Russell also attended the screening, which was followed up with a Q&A, where fellow cast member Margot Robbie made a virtual appearance.

Later that night, Christian and David attended a second screening of Amsterdam at El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.

In a recent interview, Christian revealed why he stopped talking to co-star Chris Rock while on set of the movie.

Margot Robbie had a stunning red carpet moment at the UK premiere of her new movie Amsterdam!

The 32-year-old two-time Oscar-nominated actress walked the carpet alongside her co-stars at the event on Wednesday night (September 21) at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in London, England.

Margot was joined by Christian Bale (with his wife Sibi), Rami Malek, and Andrea Riseborough.

Margot Robbie looked pretty in a white lace dress at the premiere of her new David O. Russell-directed movie held on Sunday (September 18) at Alice Tully Hall in New York City.

Joining Margot at the premiere were her co-stars John David Washington, Christian Bale and wife Sibi, Robert De Niro, Rami Malek, Andrea Riseborough, Mike Myers and wife Kelly Tisdale, Timothy Olyphant, and Michael Shannon.

Drake – who is a producer on the movie – was also in attendance at the premiere.

The upcoming movie Amsterdam has a star-studded cast and 20th Century Studios has shared 15 character posters featuring all of the big names!

Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, and John David Washington lead the cast of five-time Oscar nominee David O. Russell‘s upcoming film, which will also feature Taylor Swift in a small role.

Amsterdam is “an original crime epic about three close friends who find themselves at the center of one of the most shocking secret plots in American history. A fascinating and richly intricate tale that brilliantly weaves historical fact with fiction for a timely, cinematic experience.”

Also featured in the cast are Chris Rock, Anya Taylor-Joy, Zoe Saldana, Mike Myers, Michael Shannon, Timothy Olyphant, Andrea Riseborough, Taylor Swift, Matthias Schoenaerts, Alessandro Nivola, Rami Malek, and Robert De Niro.

Amsterdam will be released in theaters on October 7.

Taylor Swift has landed a role in one of the most highly anticipated movies that is currently in the works!

The 31-year-old singer will be appearing in the upcoming movie from acclaimed director David O. Russell, who is best known for directing films like Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle.

The untitled movie marks the first time David is directing a new film since 2015′s Joy, which earned Jennifer Lawrence an Oscar nomination. Nothing is known about the plot of the movie and production has already wrapped, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A star-studded cast is attached to the project. (See some photos from set here!)

Taylor has previously acted in the movies Valentine’s Day, The Giver, and most recently in the movie musical Cats.
