Laverne Cox is the first transgender woman to star as a transgender woman in broadcast series, and she couldn’t be more proud!

“I’m really, really grateful to have a job as an actor,” the 32-year-old actress recently expressed about her upcoming CBS drama series Doubt (via THR). “I’m an avid TV watcher, and there are people in my community who watch a lot of TV. Growing up, I did not see people like me on television. That folks can have a character like Cameron, who is Ivy League educated, it’s wonderful. And to be a black transgender woman in that position on CBS is really special. She wears really great stuff, too.”

Last night (January 9), Laverne joined her co-stars Dule Hill, Elliott Gould, Dreama Walker and Kobi Libii, as well as show creators Tony Phelan and Joan Rater at their SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Conversations with Doubt panel held at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Screening Room in Los Angeles.

Katherine Heigl happily holds onto her baby bump while hitting the red carpet with her husband Josh Kelley at the CBS, CW, Showtime 2016 Summer TCA Tour Party held at the Pacific Design Center on Wednesday (August 10) in West Hollywood, Calif.

The 37-year-old pregnant actress was joined by her Doubt co-stars Laverne Cox and Dreama Walker, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend‘s Rachel Bloom, The Odd Couple‘s Matthew Perry, Lindsay Sloane and Yvette Nicole Brown, and The Big Bang Theory‘s Kunal Nayyar.

Dreama Walker waves to the cameras as she makes her way inside Craig’s Restaurant for dinner on Saturday night (December 28) in West Hollywood, Calif.

According to Deadline, the 27-year-old actress recently landed the lead role in the upcoming Lifetime flick The Grim Sleeper.

The Grim Sleeper is inspired by the true stories of the victims and survivor of a serial killer who left an apparent 14-year hiatus between his alleged murders.

The plot will center on LA Weekly investigative reporter Christine Pelisek (Walker), who broke the story of the serial killer and coined the nickname.

Nashville co-stars Hayden Panettiere and Connie Britton attend the W Magazine and Dom Perignon Pre-Golden Globes Party held at Chateau Marmont on Friday (January 11) in Los Angeles.

The ladies are both up for Golden Globes for their roles on the breakout series. Connie is nominated in the Best Actress in a Television Series – Drama category while Hayden is up for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series, Mini-Series, or Made for Television Movie.

Fellow ABC show stars Kerry Washington and Dreama Walker were also in attendance at the party! Kerry‘s flick Django Unchained is nominated for Best Picture – Drama at the show this weekend.

The cast members are in the Big Apple right now to film exterior scenes for the show, which is set in NYC. Over the weekend, Krysten hit the streets in multiple outfits to shoot scenes with James and Dreama.
