Ed Westwick Joins TikTok, Brings Back Chuck Bass in His First Video

Ed Westwick just joined the social media app TikTok and he is reprising his role as Chuck Bass in his first video!

The 33-year-old actor played the role on all six seasons of Gossip Girl and it has been a little over eight years since the show ended.

Ed began his video in a leather sherpa jacket and told fans, “Tell me you watched Gossip Girl without actually telling me you’ve watched Gossip Girl. I’ll start.”

The video then cut to Ed wearing a sharp suit and he said to the camera, “I’m Chuck Bass.”

Ed was recently asked if he’d ever appear in the upcoming Gossip Girl extension series that is in the works for HBO Max.

“I think it would be a very cool idea. I haven’t been approached really about it. This is very much its own thing and I wish them all the best. I’m very excited to see what they do,” he told Access Hollywood. “I’ve been in touch with the creators just wishing them the best, Josh [Safran] and Stephanie [Savage]. I know they’re excited.”

“Look, I mean I would never say no, but at this moment there is nothing to report,” he added.

“It’s crazy just how popular the original [series] still is! It’s funny to have all these young kids discovering Gossip Girl with their moms who used to be fans. It’s really awesome to see this resurgence but also the generational difference. I’m like, ‘How is this a retro show?’” he said.

Ed Westwick Responds to Backlash from 'Gossip Girl' Fans Who Were Unhappy with His Announcement

Ed Westwick has a message for fans who may have been upset about the announcement that he teased on social media.

The 32-year-old actor teased fans on Sunday and the hint that he gave for his big announcement was “xoxo.” If you’re unaware, “XOXO” was the way the character known as “Gossip Girl” on the series would sign off from her messages.

Most fans assumed that Ed was announcing involvement in the upcoming Gossip Girl reboot, but he instead revealed a line of face masks he created with that Gossip Girl tagline.

Ed took to Twitter to respond to people who were not happy with the announcement. He explained how the purpose of the initiative was to raise money for charity.

“For those of you that are upset about teasing my collection with the design graphic to raise money for @KickItOut: I hope you can check out the charity and learn more about their mission, who they are helping and the impact it will make in our world to combat racism and discrimination. It is important to me to use my platform to spread love, bring awareness to various organizations and do what I can to make a difference. Love, Ed,” he wrote.

Ed added, “While a GG reboot would be a great distraction, this is not the time for distractions. It is important we focus on the issues at hand, and do what we can to help, even if we think it’s something small.”
