Former President George H.W. Bush passed away last week at the age of 94, and his funeral is taking place on Wednesday (December 5).

The major news networks are live streaming the memorial for the nation to mourn along with his family and loved ones.

In addition to George H.W. Bush‘s family, the President and First Lady will also be in attendance, as well former President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, and more.

Michelle Obama Cancels Book Tour Dates to Attend George H.W. Bush's Funeral

Michelle Obama has announced that she will be postponing her book tour dates in Paris and Berlin to attend the funeral of George H.W. Bush.

“It’s important to me to join the Bush family in celebrating President George H.W. Bush’s exemplary life,” the former First Lady wrote on Twitter. “This will unfortunately preclude my visits to Paris and Berlin. I’ve been deeply touched by the enthusiasm for my memoir, and I’m working to reschedule my trip for next year.”

She continued, “I hope readers and ticket holders will understand my decision regarding my desire to attend President Bush’s funeral, and join me in paying tribute to him and his tremendous contributions to our world.”

The former president passed away at the age of 94 on Friday (November 30).

George H.W. Bush Dead - Former President of the United States Dies at 94

George H.W. Bush has sadly passed away at the age of 94.

The former president of the United States died on Friday (November 30), according to his son George W. Bush.

Jeb, Neil, Marvin, Doro, and I are saddened to announce that after 94 remarkable years, our dear Dad has died,” George W. said in a statement.

He added, “George H. W. Bush was a man of the highest character and the best dad a son or daughter could ask for. The entire Bush family is deeply grateful for 41’s life and love, for the compassion of those who have cared and prayed for Dad, and for the condolences of our friends and fellow citizens.”

George H.W. served as vice president to Ronald Reagan from 1981-1989, before becoming president and holding office from 1990-1993.

His son George W. would go on to serve as president from 2000-2009.

George H.W. is survived by his two siblings, five children, his 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. His wife Barbara passed away earlier this year.

Funeral arrangements will be announced “as soon as it is practical.”

Former President George H.W. Bush Hospitalized One Month After Wife Barbara's Death

President George H.W. Bush was recently admitted into a hospital in Maine.

The 93-year-old former president’s spokesperson Jim McGrath revealed on Twitter on Sunday morning (May 27) that George was admitted for issues related to low blood pressure and fatigue.

“President @GeorgeHWBush was taken to Southern Maine Health Care (@SMHCHealth) today after experiencing low blood pressure and fatigue. He will likely remain there for a few days for observation. The former president is awake and alert, and not in any discomfort,” Jim tweeted.

Just last month, George‘s wife of 73 years Barbara Bush sadly passed away at the age of 92.

George H.W. Bush Returns Home Following Hospitlization

George H.W. Bush is back at home after a brief hospitalization.

The 93-year-old former president was discharged from Houston Methodist Hospital on Friday (May 4) in Houston, TX.

George had been admitted to intensive care due to an infection, just a day after his wife Barbara Bush‘s funeral.

According to his spokesman Jim McGrath, George is home and doing well.

“President @GeorgeHWBush was discharged from @MethodistHosp after treatment for an infection. His doctors report he is doing well and is happy to return home,” Jim wrote on his Twitter.

Former President George H.W. Bush is in intensive care.

The news comes just a few days after former First Lady Barbara Bush‘s funeral on Saturday (April 21).

The former president has been hospitalized in Houston, Texas.

President Bush was admitted to the Houston Methodist Hospital yesterday morning after contracting an infection that spread to his blood. He is responding to treatments and appears to be recovering. We will issue additional updates as events warrant,” his office declared in a statement released on Monday (April 23).
