K-Pop Idol Goo Hara's Agency Releases Statement After Her Tragic Death

Following the tragic news of the passing of South Korean idol Goo Ha-ra, also known as Hara, her Japanese agency Production Ogi has now released a statement via 8D Creative, a Korean entertainment agency.

Goo Hara was not affiliated with Korean agencies, Soompi reported on Sunday (November 24).

“Hello. We are here to deliver tragic and unfortunate news. Family members and friends of Goo Hara are deeply shocked and anxious at the moment. Therefore, we earnestly request that you refrain from writing speculative articles and spreading rumors. In addition, we ask the media and fans to refrain from making condolence calls. Goo Hara Dead - K-Pop Star Dies at 28

K-Pop star Goo Ha-ra, also known professionally as Hara, has found dead at her home in Seoul, South Korea at the age of 28.

Her cause of death has not been released, Variety reports.

Earlier this year, the star released a statement after she attempted suicide. At that time, she was set to testify against former soccer player and ex Choi Jong Bum in a case involving abuse and blackmail.

She was previously part of the five-part girl group Kara from 2008 to 2015. After that, she pursued a solo music career and took on various acting roles.

K-Pop Star Hara Releases Statement After Suicide Attempt

Goo Ha-ra, better known as Hara, is speaking out after a suicide attempt at her home on Sunday (May 26).

The 28-year-old singer and actress, known as a member of the now disbanded K-Pop girl group Kara, issued a statement via representative on Tuesday (May 28) regarding her health.

“I’m truly sorry for causing concern due to the recent event. I am currently recovering my health. I was feeling distressed due to various incidents that piled up. I will try my best to show a healthy side of myself by having a stronger mindset. I am truly sorry about the recent incident,” she said. (English translation via Soompi.)

At the same time, she was set to testify against former soccer player and ex Choi Jong Bum in a case involving abuse and blackmail.

“[Goo Hara] is not in a position to appear at the trial. She’s currently recovering her health. If the next trial can be scheduled, she will attend. [She will be able to attend] after early July. The victim wants to make a statement. She said she wanted to do it herself,” her lawyer said.

He previously denied all of the charges except destruction and damage of property in a previous trial. The next court date is set for July 25.

K-Pop Star Hara Transported to Hospital After Suicide Attempt (Report)

Goo Ha-ra, better known as Hara, is reportedly recovering after a suicide attempt at her home on Sunday (May 26).

The 28-year-old singer and actress, known as a member of the now disbanded K-Pop girl group Kara, attempted suicide at her home in Seoul, South Korea according to Korean news outlet YTN.

One night before (May 25), she posted an image with the word “Goodbye” on her Instagram. Her manager contacted her, and when she did not respond, her manager rushed to the home and reportedly found her unconscious in a room full of smoke. She was then transported to a local hospital.

Hara reportedly remains unconscious, but her breathing and pulse are normal.
