Michelle Williams & Heath Ledger Inspired A New Sundance Film Called 'Blood'

Michelle Williams and Heath Ledger have inspired one of the new films at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival.

Titled Blood, the movie received the 2022 Special Jury Award winner for Uncompromising Artistic Vision, and according to the film’s director, Bradley Rust Gray, Michelle inspired it.

7 Famous Actors Turned Down Roles in 'Brokeback Mountain' Before Heath Ledger & Jake Gyllenhaal Landed the Leads

Brokeback Mountain was a smash-hit film back when it was released in theaters in 2005.

The original film was directed by Ang Lee and starred the late Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal in the leading roles.

What you may not know is, several A-List actors turned down the roles of Jack (Gyllenhaal) and Ennis (Ledger) when they read the script. During interviews, one director who almost directed the movie, Gus Van Sant, revealed who turned down the roles. Screenwriter Diana Ossana also named some names in another interview.

Josh Hartnett Almost Starred in 'Brokeback Mountain' with an Oscar-Winning Actor & It's His Biggest Regret

Josh Hartnett recently opened up about being offered one of the lead roles in the Oscar-winning movie Brokeback Mountain and why he dropped out of the project.

The 43-year-old actor had to drop out because of contractual obligations to star in the 2006 thriller The Black Dahlia.

'A Knight's Tale' Director Recalls Heath Ledger Changing The Song To The Iconic Dance Scene

A Knight’s Tale is celebrating its’ 20th anniversary and director Brian Helgeland is looking back on the medieval fantasy film, which starred Heath Ledger.

Jake Gyllenhaal Reveals Why Heath Ledger Said No to 'Brokeback Mountain' Oscars Bit

Jake Gyllenhaal and the late Heath Ledger co-starred in the 2005 hit film Brokeback Mountain, and now Jake is relaying a story about what happened when they were approached to present at the Oscars.

“I remember they wanted to do an opening for the Academy Awards that year that was sort of joking about it. And Heath refused. I was sort of at the time, ‘Oh, okay… whatever.’ I’m always like: it’s all in good fun. And Heath said, ‘It’s not a joke to me – I don’t want to make any jokes about it,’” Jake told Another Man.

When the writer of the piece remarked about how smart that was, Jake responded, “Absolutely.”
