Anya Taylor-Joy hits the red carpet in a chic purple look next to Squid Game actress Jung Ho-Yeon for the 2021 CFDA Fashion Awards held at The Grill Room on Wednesday night (November 10) in New York City.

The two Netflix stars stepped out for the event which honors the outstanding contributions to American fashion across best design talent, to recognizing the celebrities who bring fashion to the forefront across the globe.

Alongside Anya and Ho-Yeon, Kehlani, Iman, Kid Cudi, Ciara, Evan Mock and Tommy Dorfman were also seen at the event.

FYI: Anya wore an Oscar de la Renta look with Tiffany & Co. jewelry and a Gigi Burris hat. Ho-Yeon wore Louis Vuitton.

Numerous celebrities came together to sign an open letter to the leaders of the world to end the COVID-19 pandemic now.

Specifically, the letter emphasizes the importance of vaccine accessibility to every country with the hopes of vaccinating 70% of the world by Summer, 2022.

Iman is as golden as the sun as she arrives at the 2021 Met Gala on Monday (September 13) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

The 66-year-old stunning model looked amazing in a look that resembled the sun from Harris Reed x Dolce & Gabbana. She’s wearing jewelry by Fred Leighton and Kwiat.

Harris also attended the event as Iman‘s date.

The annual Costume Institute Gala is the fashion world’s equivalent of the Oscars and the event is usually held on the first Monday of May, but it was postponed until September 2021 due to the pandemic. The theme this year is “In America” and there will be a two-part exhibit with the second part debuting at next year’s Met Gala.

Iman is looking at the time she started modeling in the United States and got real about how she was treated much differently than her white peers in the industry.

The 65-year-old model spoke to Naomi Campbell on her No Filter YouTube series and revealed that it wasn’t only about pay at that time, it was also about pitting Black models against each other and makeup artists not knowing what to do with anyone not white, as well.

“My first experience [of racism] was seeing the discrepancies in pay between white models and Black models. My rate was different to white girls – it was an unspoken rule,” she recalled, before adding that she went on strike for three months as a protest.

Iman continued, “If I’m doing the same job as a Caucasian model, why am I being paid less? I thought that if I took [the lower wage] I’d be saying ‘I deserve less’.”

Later on the interview, Iman spoke about being constantly compared and turned against other Black models in the industry.

“What I witnessed in America when I arrived here in 1975 was how [the fashion industry] purposefully pitched Black models against each other,” she says. “[The attitude was] you have to dethrone one to take the place of another, but we could see lots of top white models working at the same time.”

She added, “I’m not going to play that game … because there’s space for both of us.”

Earlier this year, Iman reflected on her marriage to late musician David Bowie. Here’s what she said…

Iman is reflecting on her life with the late David Bowie in the brand new issue of Harper’s Bazaar.

The 65-year-old supermodel has opened up about their life together in the issue. David passed away in 2016 after a battle with cancer.

“David is in our hearts and minds on a daily basis, for all of us,” Iman shared. “You know, this was my true love. My daughter once asked me if I would ever marry again and I said, ‘never’.”

She added, “He’s hiding in plain sight. His fans are still around, his music is still relevant. And on the day of his passing, I went on a hike and a bluebird flew in front of me. A bluebird, above all things!”

Iman also revealed that her marriage to David was a very regular marriage.

“It could not have been more regular!” she says. “It was a really everyday marriage. He was a very funny, warm gentleman – you know, everyone talks about him being futuristic, but no, he was not, he liked more than anything to wear a three-piece suit.”

She continued, “It was a beautiful, ordinary life and that was what was great about it. We could live in New York, pick up our daughter from school, walk everywhere… You know, I wish we had had more years.”

Over the summer, Iman and David‘s daughter, Lexi, revealed she hadn’t seen her mom in over six months, due to the pandemic.

Liev Schreiber bundles up on the red carpet at the opening night performance of the Broadway musical West Side Story on Thursday (February 20) at the Broadway Theatre in New York City.

The 52-year-old actor was joined at the show by his kids Sasha, 12, and Kai, 11.
